Uniden R3 + Hardwire Kit w/Mute Button Bundle

This product is worth the money depending on what your need is. If you drive long distances on the highway this is perfect for you but if you are a city goer you will have false alerts left and right which the gps lockout does a great job picking up on but it’s almost TOO good. I do enjoy the strength of this radar far more on the highway where if you are a city driver you will get KA alerts every five seconds because of just population density and the strength of the radar but overall great product

I have had this radar detector for 2 months now. Detector works great, shipped fast and was easy to install. Only downside is the hardwire kit. It has failed in 2 spots already. One being the inline fuse plastic gave out and needed to be "fixed" with a healthy amount of tape. Second, and more depressing, is the mute button on the hard wire kit became permanently depressed today rendering it completely useless. This is a reflection on the manufacturer and not the distributor. Very dissapointing though since now I have lights flashing at me and zero functionality to mute discretely. Imo I would save the money and just buy the detector and get the basic $10 hardwire kit on amazon and skip inline mute button.

Big suction cup mount is super easy and out of the way behind my rear view mirror on my Lexus CT200h. I happen to have a power outlet bin (push up with a button with stowage inside) instead of a useless pop-up nav screen. Read the helpful forums for the recommended set up for your area, then watch a couple YouTube videos to explain each function in detail. Already saved me!

The R3 detector - excellent, the hard wire kit Not so.Cheap glass fuse holder with broken locking tabs straight out of the box. I drive a company vehicle 6 days a week and more than 3 hours of driving each day so I waited until I had a free day to install the hard wired kit.No more curly cord hanging in my vision and it worked well for one day before the mute button failed. It took me almost an hour to install this in my Chevy 3500 so I’m hesitant to remove it and send it back for a replacement

I received this terrific radar detector a couple of weeks ago and it saved me twice from getting a speeding ticket. It's really a long range radar bcuz it alerted me for about a mile ahead. I will highly recommend this to anyone who has a heavy foot.

Not better than a Valentine. Startup process is loud and annoying. Works well enough, but I would prefer the Valentine One.

This detector has unsurpassed range, and once updated to the latest firmware and set up properly does not false alert very often. I have only had the unit a few days and it has already alerted me to several threats I may not have otherwise been aware of, with plenty of time to react. Two thumbs up!

I had been in the market for a new radar detector and almost every review put the uniden r3 at or near the top. The addition of a remote mute wire is the perfect accessory if you’d like something a little more stealth and also closer to help mute/lockout false alerts. You can also change the brightness with the switch.
