Rated and received in "excellent" condition.
The renewed RS500 I purchased was rated as excellent condition. The unit I received seemed to be in excellent condition including a Netgear power brick and new power cable and internet connection cable. There were no physical scratches or other visible defects. The unit was packed in a generic cardboard box, however. The unit is now up and running successfully. Totally satisfied so far. There is a 90 day warranty. The unit was registered with Netgear as part of the startup process and shows up under my account on their website. I also purchased and installed a new EXS27 WiFi 7 range extender which was also installed and is running connected with the RS500.

Dependable Equipment
I think this is the 3rd Nighthawk Iโve purchased over several years. They last long and the company will contact you if their system changes if you system will no longer update after a date in the future. Thatโs why I bought this one. Never had problems with any of my systems. Cost is reasonable and a good value for the money. It connects quickly and never had any security issues with any of my systems. Iโm a senior and simplicity is important for me because I donโt understand much when it comes to this type of equipment. Customer Service is also very helpful and patient!

Terrible
The router was listed as being in excellent condition, but had visible signs of use. Physical condition was good, used...no better. Definitely not excellent. Set-up with the mobile app failed repeatedly. I had to manually set up using the web interface. Once router was set up and working, maximum download and streaming speeds were slower than my 5-year-old TP-Link WiFi 6 Router, and WiFi was spotty with too frequent drop-outs. I wasted a day trying to convince myself to keep this but finally gave up at around 2 am. This is just a terrible router, which was also the case with earlier Netgear routers that I owned. I never had one work for longer than two years. Not ever. This refurbished model is already two years old, and by the looks of it, this was used for a while before being returned or traded in, which is probably why the performance was so poor right out of the box. If you spend $400 on a brand new RS500, my personal experience says you will be lucky to get 2 good years out of it before it needs to be replaced. If you get a refurbished model that had extensive use before being returned or traded in, which was clearly the case with mine, you will be lucky if it works at all.

A Perfect Addition
Title: A Perfect Addition Description: My Nighthawk RS500 router was the perfect compliment to the fiber internet that I just had installed. It is fast and has a great range to reach devices all over the house.

I love this unit!
Set up time went quickly, and I was running 100 more gig in no time. Armor security is a plus. I would recommend this unit for the price and quality!

Router would not work
It was a refurbished router and it worked for about 8 hours and then just quit. Tested the power supply and it was fine but I could never get it powered up. I returned it.
