ファンタジーは良く読みますが自分が好んで読むファンタジー小説とは違い （これをファンタジー小説と位置付けるのはちょっと違う気もしますが）、 有り得るはずもないのにまるで経験したかのような既視感を覚えさせてくれます。 恋愛して、挫折して、友人や身近な人との別れを経験して、大人になり、 過去の経験がだぶって感じられるからこそかも知れません。 読者それぞれ印象に残ったシーンや話はあると思いますが、個人的には 紅い花の話がずっと心の中でリフレインして正直切なすぎてつらかったです^^; 読後はストーリー全体を思い返し軽い空虚感に襲われました。 フランス語は分からないので原書との違いは分かりませんが、美しい英文でとても読みやすかったです。 多読目的で購入した本書。低学年向けの児童書と考えていたので、 英語の勉強をしようと思わなければおそらく手にすることはなかったでしょう。 一生のうち、読んでおいて本当に良かったと思える本。

I didn’t expect the paperback to be thin but oh well. It came a day early and the quality is nice so far. I haven’t read it because i got it wrapped for christmas (just a little gift for myself, everyone should do it :) and yeah. i hope i’ll like it!

『The Little Prince』は、著者はフランス人のサン＝テグジュベリ。原典はフランス語だが1943年にアメリカで出版された。日本では、観光名所として星の王子様ミュージアムなどもある。児童文学の世界的作品だ。子どものときには誰もが持っていた純粋で、ノスタルジーの心を思い出せてくれる。 作品は、冒頭の”boa constrictor”から王子様の旅立ちまで子ども純粋な視座で一貫している。特に、王子が地球に向かう前に出会った6人の大人も子供目線からみた大人の不思議な実態を軽妙だ。大人が不必要なほどに抱える、体裁・利己主義・矛盾・形式化・従順・理論偏重を描き出しながら、子ども目線からの純粋な視点で批判は、私たちへの「気づきのヒント」に近い。さらに、最後は、星の王子様が「星に帰る」のだが、生死はその明らかにされていない。しかし、本当に作者が伝えたかったことは、大人がそうしたことに執着してしまうことへの巧妙な異論だ。 私が読んだのは英語版で原語ではないのだが、翻訳者の英語の美しさにも大きく魅了された。そうしたコンテクストにおける数々の名言の中でも、やはり珠玉の名言はこれである。”One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes.”（心の目で見るんだよ。本当に大切なものは目に見えないんだ。/裏C訳）ここまでのストーリーラインから突出することなく、しかし、読むものの心に永遠に刻み付ける力強いメッセージ性を与えている。 『星の王子様』は、ここで紹介されている以上に、様々な解釈が可能であり、多くの示唆に富んでいる。文学作品として深く理論的に感じてみたい作品だ。

Got this book for my kid who has read same story in non-english language in school. As he is aware of story, he reads it regularly to hone his english reading skills. Worth buying it.

人の真理を描いてる。

This book is my lesson note of English. I had to found easy a book because my English is very cheap. But this book is for grown-ups rather for low children. They are enough funny and interesting. My learn was write whole the book and translate all. but I couldn't well translate at some sentence. Someday when I grow-up I will try to read this book again.

Great quality

Dieses erstmal 1943 in New York erschienene Kunstmärchen zählt schon lange zu den Klassikern der Weltliteratur. Und das durchaus zurecht, wie ich finde: Den Kleinen Prinzen sollte man gelesen haben, wenn auch nicht zwingender Weise auf Englisch. Ich besitze ebenfalls eine deutsche Ausgabe, die mir persönlich auf Grund der größeren sprachlichen Nähe besser gefällt. Die englische Übersetzung habe ich als Geschenk für einen englischsprachigen Bekannten gekauft, der das Buch noch gar nicht kannte. Zur Handlung selbst wurde in den Rezensionen hier schon alles gesagt, zu den berühmtesten Zitaten, die es aus dem Text in die Alltagssprache geschafft haben, zählt unter anderem wohl: "Man sieht nur mit dem Herzen gut. Das Wesentliche ist für die Augen unsichtbar." Auch wenn das natürlich absolut zutrifft, sollte man das Buch kaufen, gleich in welcher Sprache. Und immer wieder lesen, für neue Denkansltße, Einsichten, oder einfach, weil man sich selbst verändert hat und so immer wieder einen neuen Zugang zu diesem zweifellos zeitlosen Text finden kann. Eines jener Bücher, das ich nicht missen möchte, also eine ganz klare Kaufempfehlung.

C'est un petit livre de chevet très enrichissant, qu'on peut ouvrir à n'importe quelle page, de plus il est très court à lire

I noticed that the reviews seem to be aimed at various different iterations of the story, which I find confusing for buyers. Given that, please be aware that I'm reviewing the book that I bought from this particular listing (pictured). I made the mistake of trusting some of the pictures in a few reviews, thinking that what I was seeing would be in this particular book. Don't get me wrong, I love the illustrations in the book I bought, but I admit to being a little disappointed that I didn't get to see the drawings from certain reviews. Please be wary of photos so that you don't make the same mistake I did. I don't regret my purchase. The cover and illustrations are beautiful. I didn't grow up with the book. Instead, I watched the heck out of the 1974 musical film adaptation, which came on TV every once in awhile in the 80s. It played a huge part in shaping how my young mind viewed the world, morals, ethics, and, more importantly, that never letting go of childlike wonder in adulthood is important. At 44, I still value that ideal. My motto in life has been the fox's main quote in the wheat fields. It's one of my most cherished movies. Given that, I've been looking for a solid edition of the book for years so that I can experience where it all started. Considering how crazy short it is, I look forward to reading it all in less than a day. I'll try to read as slowly as possible in order to absorb everything as intended. This book is a welcomed addition to my bookshelves.
