MTI Adventurewear Java PFD Life Jacket

A great looking PFD, very secure, and comfortable...i was looking for a paddling vest without all the bells and whistles, but to my surprise, it came with a whistle, lol. If you need a good PFD to do it's job without all the extras and a great price, this is the perfect choice.I wanted a nice looking PFD with enough pocket space to hold my large Galaxy Note 8 phone so i can get to it easily for taking photos from my kayak, and that's what i got. The two front pockets are thin, but large and easily holds my Note 8 with room to spare.There is a lower front, belt clip to keep stress off the zipper.Two adjustable straps on either side.And adjustable shoulder straps to cinch it up for a good chest fit keeping it snug.There is also an emergency whistle inside one of the pockets, and a clip in the other.I am very pleased with this PFD, i will be taking it out kayaking today as soon as the storms pass."I just noticed there is NO reflective material on the shoulder strap webbing as shown in the photo" ....it kind of takes away from the look, but i guess the function is the important part. Although i do wish it was there, especially as a kayaker.

The PFD appears darker in color in the picture, which is disappointing when trying to match it to my kayak. Also, it's pictured as having a couple tabs sewn on back which it does not have. The vest itself is ok, but a little bulky.

This was a gift for a student of mine. It is a nice jacket with some storage pockets in helpful places. He says it's super comfortable and it stays fairly tight without being constricting.

This is a comfortable PFD. I use it for kayaking on our area lakes, and have zero complaints about it. It looks good, fits great, and doesn't interfere with my paddling. What more could I ask for? MTI Adventurewear Java PFD Life Jacket (Mango/Dark Gray, Large/X-Large)

I am a 5'5" female, about 135 pounds with a small chest. The small/medium fits perfectly, although I do have the upper shoulder straps at the minimum position without having to make some modifications. I purchased this for dragonboat paddling, and it is extremely comfortable. I have not tested it in the water...and I don't plan to, on purpose! Very happy with this purchase.

This vest does not have sides, it is held together by straps

Did not fit correctly. Looked fine, but as soon as I got in the water, it floated up so it was bunched around my neck. Could not get it to stay in place no matter how tight I pulled the straps.
