Schumacher Electric 2A Car Battery Charger & Maintainer, 6V/12V – SP1296

This products works great for keeping both of my batteries topped off while I keep my 2023 Ram 3500 Cummins in my garage all winter. Keeps my batteries lasting longer. Good value for the money. Will continue to use there chargers/maintainers for all of my batteries.

Works well. Charged an old lawnmower battery that wouldn’t hold a charge. Now three weeks on the same charge. Couldn’t be happier.

I'm very pleased with this little device. It tops off my generator battery and the small batteries in my ups systems. Connect the leads and walk away.

I have kept 5 of these in constant use for many years. I install them on my seasonal vehicles, mower, tractor, and generator. In my experience, they greatly increase the battery life, so they are well worth the cost. They always keep the batteries properly maintained without overcharging. They are essential for anything stored outside in my cold northern New England winters. It's so reassuring to know that everything I have with electric start is always ready to go when I turn the key, no matter the temperature or how long it has been since it was last used!These maintainers do have one flaw that reoccurs in every single one of the many chargers I've owned. After a few years of use, the cord always frays and/or breaks immediately where the wire comes out of the charger. Once this happens the charger becomes unsafe as the cord will short out. I contacted Schumacher about this problem a few years ago, but the design remains the same. If it wasn't for this issue, these units would absolutely deserve a 5 star rating. Despite this shortcoming, I continue to buy them because they work so well!

Great trickle charger. I have several of these for my cars that sit in the garage most of the time. They sit and maintain the batteries sometimes for up to a year. I’ve never had a single problem with this brand.Highly recommend recommended

The old SM tenders of the same size were very heavy but made no noise when plugged in. Had them for 20 years. These on the other hand are very noisy when in use. They make a high frequency buzzing sound that is very obnoxious!!!I have 5 of these new ones in the garage and the Nosie and racket they make is very loud! Very disturbing when in the garage any length of time working on bikes, cars, yard tools, just makes me want to hit them with a hammer and put them out of their misery. Maybe I'll wrap them in some sound deadening material, but they might overheat? If you suffer from high frequency hearing loss you may not hear them. But I do!!!So I did try some sound deadening, helps some but the squealing sound still is heard. NOTE: This high freq sound is heard whether its charging or not. Just plugged in and they all start making noise.UPDATE 10/29/24 the float voltage has dropped on all 5 units. Was 13.2 volts float now all are at 12.6 to 12.9 voltage measured at the battery terminals. Recommended float V is 13+ volts. Going back to using my old ones and boxing up the 5 newer ones and storing away. What a shame.

Great for maintaining small engine trickle charger.

Product as described. Don’t know about longevity of item as this is my first winter using it. My motorcycle seems to fire right up after prolonged idle time, so it seems the battery is fully juiced like it should be.

Takes up less space than I was expecting

Segundo equipo que he comprado. La capacidad de 2 amperes es muy útil si tienes vehículos con equipos o accesorios que consuman un poco al estar el vehículo guardado.Si la batería ha bajado por estar parado el vehículo por algún tiempo tiene la capacidad de cargar sin marcar error ( el de 1.5 A a veces marca error por el consumo). Es silenciosoAl precio que se pagó es una excelente compra

me gusto:teniendo una bateria de auto compacto, totalmente descargada, se pudo cargar en 24 horas o un poco menos. Por eso pongo buena calificacion porque hizo lo que tenia que hacer. En mi caso las primeras 8 horas el LED estaba en rojo(que puede ser error o desulfuracion), despues paso a color amarillo(cargando), luego de un rato paso otra vez a color rojo, pero busque en internet y al parecer es una falla del aparato, desconectandolo y volviendolo a conectar vuelve al estado de carga(amarillo led). Despues de 15 horas termino de cargar la bateria de 550.LO MALO:La documentacion esta mal escrita y confusa, tienes que buscar en internet para encontrar el manual de productos similares de la misma marca y encontrar todos los modos del led. Solo tiene 2 luces led y con eso te da todos los mensajes, ya sea: error, cargando, cargado(done), modo proteccion, o conexion erronea. Tambien tiene un error que tienes que desconectar y volver a conectar para que siga cargando. Es plastico pero se ve que se tiene que cuidar, no uso rudo. Lo compre por $600 si estuviera en $400 seria buena compra.
