I have this filter in my tank do I completely submerge the filter or do I have water coming out of the vents at the top?

You submerge the filter pad and its held by the clip at the top. The actual filter itself needs to be so that the water comes out of the vents to create a slight waterfall affect. There is an indicator on the side to where the water level should reach.

How many filters are in the box. Don’t want to pay 15.99 for one filter. And does it also have the carbon inside filter.

There are 3 filters in the box. It sys it does but this filter is very bulky.
