This kit is pretty neat! I purchased it as a gift for my niece who enjoys making hair accessories. The directions are very good. She was very excited to make her own barrettes with ribbons and beads. They remind me of barrettes we made when I was little. The cover slides on top of the tray so everything stays together. You put the barrette into the center of the lid and there are slots for the ribbons so they do not get tangled.

I really only ordered this set because I wanted the S shaped barrettes and I couldn't find them anywhere ! I haven't used any other parts of this , but it seems fairly simple to use . I like that the top has the separators so you know which row you are working on ( for beginners) . I would reccomend this for little girls . They would have a blast with it !!

I bought this for a gift and the little girl who received it LOVED it and started playing with it immediately. At eight years old, she was able to do most of the crafting herself, but needed some help for initial setup. I like that she'll be able to use barrettes and ribbon bought elsewhere to continue using it, if she wants. And if it holds up. I was a little disappointed at the flimsy plastic.
