Don’t let the name fool you. This innovative anchoring system works great when youwant to keep your watercraft secured but don’t have anything to tie to. The Sandspike®can keep your watercraft on the beach or off the beach, depending on which you prefer.Simple to use, just insert in the beach angled away from your boat, and the Sandspike®acts as a temporary mooring bit. Once inserted, it looks good and it’s much safer thansticks, rocks, or whatever else you find on the beach. They work on all types ofbeaches, except solid rock. (But, then what will?) Original size will hold a low profile boat up to a 24’ depending on conditions.Watercraft with Towers need to purchase the Medium SandspikeBeware of cheap imitations on the market! We have done numerous testing on all of our competitors products and we still have the strongest holding power of any beach anchor on the market today! Guaranteed! In fact due to this incredible holding power of our Sandspike we are the only one that is recommended and manufactured for a major boat manufacturer!

The Sandspike works okay when the water is calm. I suppose if you were to use it at a lake where there aren't many waves or a lot of boat traffic, it would work quite well. However, I could not get this product to hold on the bank of the river when there was a lot of boat traffic and lots of waves. My boat is 24 feet long, so it is at the upper end of the size boat that it claims it will anchor.

It gets sandy
I put it in the sand and it sandspiked. I anchored the beach. It was freaking amazing. But the color didn’t Mach the beach. So I didn’t trip over it. I think it did what it advertised.

Great product for intended use
I've had one for a year. I replaced a more complex (and more expensive) sand anchor that has handles that you use to slam the spike into the sand. That kind easily clogs with sand and rust -- very annoying after using it a few times. This anchor is much easier to use and in my experience equally effective. Get the right angle and stomp it with your foot into the ground. Holds the line well. Releases easily.Regarding the price and construction -- this is clearly a premium product. Currently I am using a shovel as a second anchor with the sandspike when I boat to the sandbar. While the shovel is cheap and effective, it looks horrible. Especially to anchor my boat (which is worth more than either of my cars). While simple in design, the sandspikes are immaculately constructed and finished and come in stylish colors. You are proud to have your wife, child, or guest handle one. Unlike some sketchy piece of angle iron with sharp edges from grinding it in your basement. Which admittedly is probably equally effective at anchoring a boat though cosmetically unsatisfactory. While not cheap, the sandspike is a great product if you frequently boat to a beach or marsh. Which is why I'm buying a second one today.Note: I think some people don't understand a sand anchor. You can't go 10 or 15 feet up the beach beyond the high tide line and expect to put it in with your foot. Bring rebar and a sledge hammer instead. A sand anchor works in sand which is frequently submerged or is otherwise soft. Not hard packed dirt.

So good he wanted it twice!
This Sandspike works so good that after my brother accidently tipped his boat over and lost his, he requested it for Xmas a second time!

Doesn't hold
Nicely constructed, simple, light, and attractive but - it just wouldn't hold. Above the waterline, it was difficult to get set in deep and even then it would arbitrarily pull out under light to moderate anchor line pressure. At the waterline and below, it went in easily but had no holding power whatsoever. The description states that it works on any type of beach but I didn't find that to be the case. Disappointed.

Lightweight & Functional
I use this as a second anchor for my 17' jetboat at the beach. It's small, lightweight, & as long as your rode is long enough & the angle is correct, it works like a charm. Liked it so well, I purchased another for my cousin's small Carolina Skiff used for clamming.

Expensive, but good
this beach anchor does the trick, but think it is a tad expensive for what you get. looks professionally manufactures, "pretty' - will have to see how well the finish holds up after extensive use.
