Wyoming Saw-1

One of the guys at Elk camp has one so needless to say, I had to get one for myself. This little saw is an absolute beast. I haven’t been through bone yet but the other blade that comes with it chews through wood quick. If you’re out in the field, this is what you want. Lightweight and tough as nails. I highly recommend.

Gave as gifts to our sons, for use in their packs for packing out big game! Perfect, lightweight and compact, they were very pleased.

A friend had this saw on a canoe trip in Canada. It is sturdy! We breezed right through a lot of wood for many campfires. Not designed for this I'm sure -- we used the back of the frame to whack off small twig branches from the stalk of small dead pines we were using for fires. After I got home, I ordered a Wyoming saw right away.

This saw works very well and is very easy to pack and clean up after using it to cut through deer bone. The blade is a bit tight to fit on due to the slightly short length of the tension screw. Make sure you clean the blade soon after use to avoid rust on the high carbon steel blade. I used it thus far on 3 whitetail (cutting through ribs and spine) without any issues or dulling. It is a bit short if you plan to use for elk due to the limited saw length, but works great for whitetail and other medium sized game. Get the Wyoming saw 2 if needed for large game.

I bought this as a camping saw for camping season next spring. We just got our X-Mass yesterday tree and I needed to cut the trunk to make it fit our base. Since we just moved I couldn't find my full sized hack saw I decided to use this saw and it worked like a champ! We think it took me 60 to 90 seconds to cut the 4" diameter trunk of a very fresh (I believe it was cut last week) 10' Fraser Fir. What a great little saw!!! Of course I found my full sized saw after we used this one!! Nonetheless, I bet I could have cut a 6" diameter log/trunk with this saw without issue.The case is a bit cheap but it does the job. It comes with 2 saws one for small wood or bone cutting jobs and the bigger, pictured, for med wood cutting jobs. It would have been nice if the blades came with plastic covers.If you're looking for a good portable hack saw, this is the one. It's light, portable, easy to assemble, easy to break down and it doesn't take up much room. Quality saw that has been made the same for several years. Good to see a company not go cheap on their product and charge more. I thought I was ordering the one with a leather pouch. I was disappointed to receive the nylon pouch. That is no one's fault but mine. Great product.

Undisputedly, hands-down, the best. I bought this one to replace one I won as a door prize long ago that served me well for years before finally getting lost at sea. R.I.P. saw #1, long live saw #2. Beats any larger size bow saw due to stiffer frame and adjustable tension at the blade. I have double sided cut through logs with this in a pinch. Bone saw also flawless. Modern carrying case feels less substantial than the older ones, but looks like slightly better metal snaps? Good saw all-around.
