V for Vendetta: From Screenplay to Film Paperback – 1 Jun. 2006

Amazing. FULL script and annotations for the first pages, and beautiful descriptions of the scenes. Then there is some imagery and beautiful depictions of the scenes. The part where it gives information on the scenes and how they created them is perfect, and is in first person!!! It feels as though you are on set with them, behind the scenes joining in the fun and awesome buzz of the film production!!!! The concept art, storyboards, sketches are great, and the end pages of concept one-sheet film covers and posters is fantastic!!!

Very good book. Contains the entire screenplay. The second part is devoted to the presentation of the process of filmmaking. It includes both descriptions and a lot of great photos. For dessert, the section devoted to the promotion so posters. There are plenty of them there, and most I saw for the first time in my life. For fans of the film is the position you must have in your collection. I recommend!

The result of going from Screenplay to film has made this is a Must See movie, as it has a powerful message apt for the times in which we are living. Though the Character V himself is taking personal revenge in the way of killing the leaders in control, his appeal to people is not one of violence. He appeals to people to wake up from their slumber and stand up against the endless lies and brutality of the regime. That this is the message is clearly seen in his speeches as well as the way in which the people respond to it.The scene at the end of the film where thousands of people, young and old march unarmed, hand in hand against the oppressors and the troops, is an extremely powerful message and reminiscent of the power of Gandhi's message of non-violence and civil disobedience.As this non-violent uprising culminates in the film on the 5th of November, it is a timely reminder to go out and buy this video and let the message sink in.

"V for Vendetta" does not show how things could become, but is a look at how things have become in the U.S. and other countries as well. To get a better idea of what the world has become (although the politicians are trying their darnedest to keep it hidden) one only needs to watch "V for Vendetta" to pierce the veil that hides the truth from so many.This movie shows the psychopathic people who are in control of a country and how they are abusing their power, as all psychopaths do. And although I am not endorsing the way that the revenge of "V" was handled, there is a sense of encouragement that one has while watching the movie.I think that "V for Vendetta" is a very important movie in its own right. It brings to light the true face behind the mask of those who are in power right now in real life. It is a movie that needs to be seen by those who think that their governments have their best interests at heart. To show them that 'Big Brother' is already here.

To write a review about this book is completely madding. The movie is amazing but to actually read the script along with the footnotes about what the actors/ actress were able to read while in the product of the actual film. What I love the most about this book is the fact that it allows you to have a deeper understanding of the most important scenes that perhaps you did not have the greatest understanding about. It also answer question such as why did the directors to film a certain scene from the comic book series the way they did. It also allows fans to read about humors acts that happen upon the product of the actual film. For me I bought this book because I wanted to have a deeper understanding about my favorite character V. This book allowed me to truly unmask his inner emotions, thoughts and true intentions towards Evey. It's just a great edition to any V for Vendetta fan's collection.

自分が持っているのは、ハードカバー版の初版のやつですが、ペーパーバック版もあるのですね？！ハードカバー版は重いし、この本は何せ内容が濃いので、必然的に何度も何度も読むことになり、その稼働回数の増加に、ハードカバーだと角やら表紙カバーペーパーの摩耗が激しく．．．（汗）　ハードカバー版もたしかに造形物として美しいのですが、ペーパーバック版のほうが使い勝手がいいかもしれませんねｗｗ　普段使いにはペーパーバック版を、記念品としてハードカバー版を！ｗ　内容の素晴らしさは、他の方が書かれている通りです。　まず、スクリプト。残念ながら映画と100％同じものではありません。おそらく、撮影開始時当初のスクリプトが収録されているのでしょう。しかし、「あれ？ここ、こうだったよ？」と最終版を自分で書き込みながら読み進めるのもまた面白いですｗ　それに、監督の鉛筆での走り書きと、全ページにその場面の映画シーンの画像付きです。豪華！！　次に、絵コンテ？（ストーリーボード、というんですかね）です。アメコミ調の、ウォッシャウスキー映画ではおなじみのあれら。それらと実際の映画での画像を並べて比較し、演出や美術製作の意図と解説が付いています。さらに、撮影時レポートなども。　最後に、使用された映画内での小道具類（サトラー政権グッズから劇中映画・ＴＶ番組のポスターなど）のアートディレクションについて、完璧に並べて解説も少し。その後、公開当時のポスターコレクションが完璧に並び、最後に完全映画クレジットで終わります。　嬉しいことに、一番最後のページには、あのエプロン姿、手袋なしのＶが、Ｖサインしてにこやかに写っている大きな写真が載っていて、何気にこれはファンにたまらない、レアな一枚でした。　洋書ですから当然英語ですが、それ以上にある種のアート書？のような装丁なので、英語読まなくても、ページめくって絵と写真を見てるだけで十分満足できます。英語自体もさほど難しくありません。　それにしても．．．米国の映画本って、ほんとに良く出来てるな〜とただ感心（日本で出る子供だましの映画関連本とはクオリティが比べ物になりません）．．．この本は、それくらい作りこんであり、ファンはこれに不満を言う余地はまるでなく、逆に感謝したいくらいの完成度、というか“上出来”なコレクターブックです。　「V for Vendetta」が好きな人は、必ず持っているべき、というか持っていたらもっと幸せになれる、間違いのない一冊です。Remenber,remenber,the 5th of November！　ファン必携！

I have become a fan of V for Vendetta since I watched the movie. I always feel that it has a unique storyline and style of direction. I came across this book while browsing for V for Vendetta books that I thought may have been available. Initially, I was on the fence about buying this as I knew that the book contains the whole film script, the kind of book that I have never read or had before. Then, I read all the other reviews and eventually decided ta make a blindbuy. I am very glad that I have made the right decision. FYI, I got the last new copy from Amazon, out of the last 4 copies left!The book is divided into 3 major sections: Shooting Script (pg. 9-168): the complete film script peppered with the director's handwritten annotations. Each page of the script has one to three screenshots at the bottom of it, which correspond to the specific scene being described. The second part is devoted to Art for the Film (pg. 169-251) which displays behind-the-scenes stills with the director's comments for ALL the major scenes in the film. Not only that, you also find storyboard-to-scene comparisons, and various theatrical posters, released and unreleased. The third part is dedicated to the Film Credits (252-255) - a list of all the cast and crew who were involved.The book I got is the paperback edition. The thickness of the cover is similar to that of a postcard and has a laminated glossy texture and the pages themselves are printed on a 120-gram quality paper that you often find used for high quality brochures, which makes the book special.In short, V for Vendetta: From Script To Screen is a must-have for fans of the film. If you still can get a copy of it elsewhere, don't miss the chance to grab one. Happy reading.

すごく良かったです。全体に重さがあり、内容も重宝しています。セリフが延々と書かれているのが良かったです。その他の写真も良かったです。何度も見てしまいます。

If you're a V and Evey nut like I am, you should grab a copy of this coffee tabler. There are awesome photos and it's fun to see the additions and deletions of the author. Most fun for me was that as I read the script, I could see, perfectly all the scenes that I was reading, almost like watching the film again as I read. Super fun. It's of excellent quality. I'm not sure, but it even appears to have a sewn-in binding. This is one that will always stay in my library for a nice rainy day. Ah...mademoiselle...would like a cup of tea with your egg?
