make sure you know what you are looking for
this product is good in design. please be cautious of your application!!! this valve is a diverter valve. the screen aerator part is capped closed. so if you wanted to use this as a convenient way of not switching faucet heads this is not for you bc you would have to put the cap on each time whenever you want to use it.i bought this to hook up my rodi filter system to the faucet sink. make sure you know what kind of part you need. i had to purchase a faucet adapter in addition to this. this valve has a female part. my faucet piece is a female part as well. just an fyialso, since my rodi filter has to stay on for a long time to produce the amount of water i need, i attached a plastic piece onto the pull lever to keep it open. if i wasn't in such a dire need to make this water, i wouldn't be using this.however, if this is the product you need, it seems to be made of very good material and quality construction. even though i got the wrong piece, i'm pretty happy with it bc i'm able to use it either way. no plumbing or hardware shops carry anything remotely similar or buildable, so i'm happy.i give it 4 stars for the lacking in description. although it was my fault, i think if i saw it reading this is a female connector piece, then i would have thought to check. i'm not a plumber and i don't know anything about plumbing so that could be my fault there.

Great until it breaks
I ordered this adapter to connect my R.O. unit to a sink faucet in our laundry room. The connection for the hose is very reliable. I don't see any way the plastic hose could slip out at all, and it's a nice snug fit. The aerator also works as expected. My problem came after a couple of months of use. The "toggle" plunger, used to select whether water comes out the side port or the aerator, uses a tiny o-ring as the valve "seat". (This is internal to the adapter.) Every adapter of this type has the same, or a very similar, design. Sometimes, the o-ring will slide out of the position it's supposed to be in, causing the plunger to stop functioning correctly. I've had the same problem with other adapters over the years. It's an annoying problem, but (normally) not too difficult to repair: on other adapters like this, the barbed connection for the plastic hose (side port) could be removed, allowing me to access the internals of the adapter and reseat that little tiny o-ring back to where it needs to be.Well, this adapter cannot be disassembled in that manner. Nor can it be disassembled in any way that I could find to access the internals. Once the o-ring slipped out of the groove that it belongs in, it no longer seats properly, and the plunger will not say in the position for supplying water to the side port. I resorted to using a toothpick to try and reseat the o-ring, but no luck. Plus, if I kept at it long enough, I'm sure I would just damage the o-ring, and there's no way to replace it because of said inability to dissassemble the adapter. If the o-ring is damaged, the plunger valve will leak, defeating the purpose of the adapter.I would give this 5 stars if only for that one tiny change (side port barbed fitting that can be removed from the adapter.) Unfortunately, since I can't repair it, this otherwise great adapter is now a useless hunk of metal, and it gets 2 stars.

If you push the plunger in, the YOU BROKE IT!
This is a great diverter. It is a perfect replacement for the one that came with my Enviro 10-Stage Water Filter. You pull the plunger to divert the water to the side tubing. When you turn off the water, the plunger will *automatically* retract to normal position. Do *not* manually push the plunger back in. Doing so will misalign the precision valve pin inside. If you operate this diverter as directed, it will last a long time, it will function beautifully. This is my third diverter in three or four years. The second one only lasted a few months, but I, and/or other family members, at times would forget and push the plunger, so I can't blame the diverter for that. When my second diverter failed (after a year or so), I tried the advice from some postings and lubricated the mechanism with vegetable oil. That helped for about a week. So I cleaned the mechanism with detergent water. The improvement was very slight. It became obvious at that point that the pin was misaligned. My new diverter is working like a charm.

Connection slightly too large.
Last year, I bought a counter top water filter that uses this exact same diverter. The little plunger no longer springs back in, so I purchased this to replace it. The one I received, is very slightly larger (or the thread depth is slightly smaller.) If I am careful and use only cold water, I can get it screw on, not leak at the top, and switch back and forth as designed. But as soon as I run the hot water, the knurled collar expands enough to pop off with the water pressure. I put the old one back on, and it stays on hot or cold. I will try to get a replacement and update this review if it works better.

HIGH QUALITY
Ordered this item to replace hard water damaged faucet coupler which has feed line to external water filter device. The independent knurled rings make this product very easy to adapt to any position with out binding on the feed hose which is attached to coupler. High quality metal. 100% satisfied with this manufacturer. This items also qualifies for free shipping. Other adapters I looked at had a shipping cost at nearly 50% of the purchase price..... Better Value for your Hard Earned Money.....

fine
I bought this to replace the one that came with my watts water filter. It seems like higher quality than the original but I don't understand why it costs half as much as just buying a whole new filter set up.

Works just like you'd expect
Bought this faucet adapter 3 years ago and it continues to work perfectly for my RO/DI setup. I live in a leased apartment so tinkering with the plumbing didn't seem like a good idea, but this doesn't run afoul of anybody.
