An Absolutely Worthwhile Contemporary Take On A Timeless Silhouette
[For those who don’t wish to invest the time into consuming a lengthy review, I personally assure you as someone who has put significant time into researching comparable options options prior to my purchase & who has had multiple successful first-hand endeavors purchasing these chairs, they are worthy of purchasing all-around.]For those who do: I have directly encountered, both through my own personal use as well as purchases for others, three different versions of this chair; it is undoubtably a worthwhile investment for anyone seeking to bring the enduring chic of this particular oval-back Louis XVI chair silhouette, one that has persisted since it’s debut in the late-1700’s/early-1800’s, into their home.I’ll only take the time to touch upon a few of the only aspects I’ve found aren’t being held in high praise:-The packaging is more than suffice & it is a simple enough task for most anyone to quickly and efficiently assemble each individual chair; in fact, the completion of putting them together is just enough to make the purchase that much more satisfying, & the item(s) more “yours”, upon completion without ever truly burdening you physically or mentally.-On topics relating to quality of construction; as far as the weight & more top-heavy build of the product, in regards to the latter first, simply look at the shape of the chair itself and you’ll discover that this is a [not uncommon] characteristic of these Louis chairs that is in fact hundreds of years old—certainly not something that is unique, or of unusually greater emphasis, to this particular maker/model of chair—&, to touch upon the subject of weight, there is nothing abnormal about it &, anyone who has ever studied or physically come in contact with authentic antique chairs(or furniture, in general) of any type will have learned that, just as humans have evolved & their average size has increasingly grown higher over time, the scale of furniture has done so in kind meaning that, throughout the history of this shape of Louis chair, these chairs inevitably fall on the heavier side in its evolution. My most favorable component of the Phinnaeus chair(s) is one that I believe is most beneficial to buyers with children/pets or simply any potential customers who are hoping they won’t be shopping for dining(or, as effectively, side) chairs again for quite some time and wish to find a product that undoubtably provides a noteworthy presentation—without need to bring up talk of price point directly following comments on how good they look—while featuring strong bones that can withstand [actual] use(& being used without an all-consuming worry of having to treat them as if they’re precious.. bc people have things to do(&, I mean, even if they don’t..)); they are composed with arguably the most family-friendly, wear-resistant materials that anyone could hope for at any price. As a renter, I utilize them in more of a bistro-oriented design directly in my very poorly-ventilated kitchen &, fortunately for me, they are built to last—& do so in a way in which they remain aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Any grime that builds up on them is easily remedied with no more than a damp towel & mild dish detergent(..& mine are bright white & a very light french(ish) blue). Their upholstery is a high-grade poly fabric &—now, consider that I have my chairs paired with a vintage Napoleon III armchair outfitted with a 100% french linen slipcover atop a humanely-sourced, leopard-print-dyed steer hide layered over a jute/wool rug while often employing a Mongolian fur runner on the table in the colder months—anyone who may attempt to argue that a poly fabric is a ‘lesser’ material to outfit these chairs with as opposed to the list of luxury options is doing so largely absent any real-world, real-life reason or logic. For chairs being used around food &/or children, you can not have a better upholstery choice. Add to that the fact that they are incredibly comfortable for any duration you may sit in them. Finally, they are made with real wood; if I’m not mistaking them with another Louis XVI-version of chair from CKH, these chairs use rubberwood. I know they’re made of real wood either way but, if I am correct, rubberwood is one of the strongest, most durable species of wood used in furniture as well as one of the most scratch-resistant.Christopher Knight may have once been one of the most recognizable [genuine] child stars in the world(&, briefly, a reality star to lesser success) but, rather than playing up that aspect of his life as a gimmick to sling these home goods, he(& his company) simply make trustworthy, durable pieces/products that most often exceed visual expectations, in ways that make them comparable to the releases from companies that are rungs above let alone those on it’s weight class, & allow that to speak for him. Barring any possible unfortunate event that is just as likely from any other brand, if you have the means, & opportunity, purchasing these chairs is an increasingly rare, worthwhile investment.

Nice pair of chairs, sturdy and actually well made for box furniture
The chairs arrived in a box that had seen better days. I know it's hard to ship something fairly heavy and big in volume. However, the chairs and all parts where in perfect condition and in the box. Assembly is easy but follow the directions, I have put similar chairs together in the past and you do need to leave the bolts slightly loose until all in place. Then stand it up right on a hard surface and lightly sit on it to align bolts and joints. Then lift gently and tighten the bolts.Chairs look great and are actually comfortable. I am a guy over 6 foot and 230 pounds and they work for me. They are being used at a kitchen table. Chairs are solid once put together per above. The only con is the webbing used in the seat makes a slight sound when you sit. Sounds like some sort of foam compressing or rubbing. Over a period of a couple of days this sound is dissipating as they are used. Might just be the seats need to stretch a bit as the seat is strung tight.Overall, very satisfied and happy with the comfortable chairs.

FABULOUS CHAIRS!!
I bought an 8 seater table from Pier 1 when it was on the "going out of business" clearance. These chairs are exact duplicates of the chairs that go with this table. I don't know about the negative reviews but I think these chairs are amazing. They are sturdy, easy to assemble, comfortable and just PERFECT. The fabric and trim are all very tightly in place and the color looks just like the picture. Someone said they have a "blue tint" to the gray but I don't agree with that either. They are just gray, at least the ones I received. They were packaged well, very well protected, no dings or chips, no damage anywhere. I put all 6 chairs together, alone, in about 3 hours. The bolts are tightened with an allen wrench and you have to hand tighten all of them(9 per chair), so my hands and thumbs are quite sore this morning but it was well worth the effort! The very last chair did not fit as flush as the others but it was workable and it's just as sturdy. You have to read the directions first(this is why I assembled them instead of my husband) and not tighten them as far as you can but instead tightening them a little at a time. And yes, there were maybe 3 that were "wobbly" but I was able to work with the front legs a bit and was able to straighten them out for the most part, but mine are on an area rug(see pic) so the little bit of "wobbly" isn't noticeable at all but can most likely be fixed by replacing the protective piece on the short leg with one a little thicker. They are just a few centimeters different on these 3, so not a big deal for me. The other 3 are perfect. I highly recommend these chairs, you won't be disappointed!

Comfort, wide, look great
The media could not be loaded. This chairs are looking great. Fabric is a nice light gray. They are more comfortable than I anticipated. They look very similar to many expensive ones out there, might not last as long but are worth it. Very easy to assemble. Very soon to rate sturdiness but they do have a very good weight . I like them so far

Great chair, great value!
My dining room set is over 30 years old. About six years ago, we had it refinished and distressed. The table and buffet still look great, but the chairs were in horrible shape. We decided to replace them a few weeks ago. I ordered eight chairs, and they arrived promptly and were very well packaged. It took about 15 minutes to put together each chair, and I think they look great with the table. They are comfortable, and the seating height works perfectly with the table. These are great chairs for the money, a really good value. They are not very heavy, so they could tip over if accidentally knocked. But still, I would definitely buy them again!
