Works great. The old spark generator on my grill gave out a few years ago, since then I simply use a BBQ lighter. I am frugal and the solution worked. But it meant have to pull the grates up to light the burners (hands get filthy), and it made it tedious and not something my wife wanted to do either. I purchased this spark generator without having even looked to see if it would fit on my old, generic, grill. It is so inexpensive why not. Turns out the grill only needed 2 spark outlets, and the barrel on the new Red BBQ spark unit (houses the battery & passes through the grill console) was larger than the original. I enlarged the hole on the grill (a bit sloppy, but flange on the new spark unit covered it), installed the only 2 spark leads on my grill (left 2 on the generator empty), and it worked perfectly. Should be about a 5 minute job....I took a little longer because I had to open the hole up a bit. Pushing a button to start the grill beats using a lighter, I should had done this a while ago. This is a great general-purpose spark generator. As well, the original had an odd 1/4 turn mounting method and the user-side would fall off including the rubber boot and the chrome surround. This Red BBQ unit is a simple threaded design, tighten by hand and the rubber boot is secured by the same threaded collar. Good mechanical design, very secure.

Well, my "OEM" igniter switch took a crap this past Saturday 4/23/16 after replacing the AA battery a few days before then to grill some asada for tacos. Long story short, I took out the old switch, did a quick google search for the part and was drawn to this product. Looked exactly like the part I had. Price was great so I ordered it Sunday afternoon. Here we are Thursday, 4/28/16, and the product arrives before noon with standard shipping. In less than 5 minutes, everything is up and running. FYI this does not come with a AA battery, not that I was expecting one. I will try to attach a photo of my grill. I did not have to make any modifications. Everything fits and looks great.I will provide updates if anything changes. But I'm fairly confident this will be a great product.

This was a very easy and very well working replacement for my barbecue it was a third of the price at the Home Depot in my local area I can’t believe Amazon is able to sell this so cheap it’s the exact same thing I bought at Home Depot and I ended up returning it at Home Depot because I found it on here for seven dollars extremely awesome thank you I was on the five connections in the back we’re perfect for my barbecue I was able to hook up all of my burners if you have more than five burners you can always combine the wires to one

works great, i had a lowes grill that has 3 burners with the igniter buttons on the knobs when u push em in, the original igniter would work when it wanted and finally quit all together. I ended up with this 4 output igniter cause i couldnt find a 3. it was pretty simple to install, but since it had 4 plugs and i only had 3 to plug in to it, when i pushed the button the spark would jump from the empty terminal over to one of the used terminals, i had to plug in the wire to the knob push button to get the spark away from the igniter. it works every time now. i didnt give 5 str cause there wasnt instructions to tell me that i had to use all the igniter plugs to get it to work correctly..

This igniter is great. I installed it in my truck camper to light the two-burner propane stove.The item I received might be different than those that questions were asked about on earlier dates. Mine has four terminals that support two separate igniter circuits. This can be seen by installing a battery and pushing the button while observing the back of the unit. You will see a spark jump across the terminals for each separate circuit. The unit does not ground through a chassis-mounted connection. One of the terminals for each circuit needs to be grounded to the burner chassis. It doesn't make any difference which terminal for either circuit is grounded but it does matter that both terminals of the same circuit are not grounded (shorted). If you use the outermost terminals as the hot lead for each circuit and their adjacent, inside terminal for ground, you will be good to go.

Given the price, this thing is great. It was a drop-in replacement for my dead one - same (overall) dimensions and layout, same diameter threaded portion that mounts thru the control plate, and so on.I inherited some clunky Sam's Club/"Royal Hall" grill from a friend, and the thing has been slowly costing me more money than it's worth. This spark generator would have been the last straw, if I would have paid the 3X higher price from Home Depot or similar. While there may be some quality differences from more expensive ones, I'm simply not going to balk, given that this cost less than the cost of lunch at Taco Bell.Long story short - this gizmo saved the grill from the landfill (recycling facility, actually), and I got to eat steak, burgers, and more, over a long holiday weekend! What's not to like?

Worked like a champ, but I needed the 5 point spark for the 4 grill burners and 1 round burner.Check your grill and make sure you order the correct one for your grill.Very easy to install, but check the connections before you mount it.

It does not come with batter, so just install AA battery and it works like a new BBQ.
