Chattanooga Theratherm Automatic Moist Heat Pack - Shoulder/Neck

I am amazed by the quality of this heating-pad . . . definitely a cut above many other models, and worth the extra investment. I rely on moist-heat therapy for management of chronic pain ~ I actually have a hydrocollator unit at home (due to an old neck injury). My work necessitates travel and I get quite sore when I'm 'on the road'. This product makes the benefits of moist heat therapy something that I can access while traveling!

This product saved a trip hope for me. Comparing this to a regular heating pad is like comparing a go-kart with an Indy car. We borrowed an in-car inverter, plugged this in to it, and used it on a ten hour road trip. When I got there my neck was loosened up and I was able to enjoy my vacation.This product puts a tremendous amount of heat into your neck and shoulders - it works as well as the heating pad at the physical therapist office. It is highly recommended.

This product did not work correctly from day one. The temperature set did not hold. After two months it does not heat up at all.

I have spinal stenosis, chronic pain in my neck and upper back. I ordered this heating pad back in 2012 and it worked fine until last month. I have tried 2 other brands and neither got hot just barely warm.I am ordering this heating pad again because I can adjust the temp and the length of time up to 60 minutes.The heat penetrates and gives me the relief that I need.

I work on a computer all day every day, and yes my neck and shoulders hurt more often than not. I get torticollis at least 3-4 times a year to where I can't even move my head. This heating pad is wonderful, fits perfect, the flap for the neck really does reach the good spots. (not quite up to below my ears, where it hurts sometimes, but it'll do). The weight of this thing is great, nice and heavy, just what I was hoping for, so it hugs you and lays nice all the time. The moist heat works just as advertised, pretty neat actually, no little foam inserts to wet down and try to slide in to a pad.(Admit have not had a chance to read any directions yet, been busy): I haven't quite figured out the settings yet though, the controller is fairly obvious a child could work the thing. But, it seems to cycle through temperature in a pattern of some sort. Gets hot very quickly, which is great, then seems to slowly cool over time. I'm sure it's a setting or intentional, will read directions soon. Either way it still works great, gets the job done, and my aching muscles are relaxed and happy again!

The adjustments on the pack are confusing and the temperature adjustment in particular never worked well. Then after only 10 months of using it a few times a year it stopped working altogether. It also has a terrible high pitched beeping sound when you plug it in. Good concept, and the moist aspect of the pad did work but the design and reliability needs some work..

As a heating pad, it worked better than the other's I've used. That said, I have 2 complaints, one minor and the other major. The minor one is the velcro strape that bridge the 2 sides by your chest can brush against your skin and be uncomfortable. The major issue is that the flap that heats the base of your neck gets too hot enough to cause burns esp when you prop your back and neck against a pillow. I experienced burns in 2 occasions, causing blisters on the back of my neck. I since fold the flap down and it seem to lessen the problem.

My pharmacist and doctor told me about this product, but I didn't believe them until it showed up at my door. This is by far the best moist heating pad I have ever experienced. The fact that it wicks moisture from the environment to create the moist heat is a huge bonus, but the way it creates consistent timed heat is amazing. I have fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease, so heat and ice treatments are a daily event in my life. I am so thankful that I was introduced to this and that Amazon had it for a good price.
