Livre a conseiller
Un ouvrage très utile aux personnes intéressées par ce type de matelotage. Les explications sont claires même pour les non anglophones.

Wish this was around when I was starting out!
First off, I want to say that I am impressed with the book overall.. Don't allow the negative reviews here to hinder you from buying this book. I first started making nylon whips in 1991. I was taught a 4 plait and given some instructions on how to do the rest. That was it! I figured out how to make Florida cow whips from that alone. In the early 2000's I was selling cow whips online and was interested in making nylon bullwhips. I wish this book had been around back then! I had to figure out how to make a bullwhip with the little information that was on the web at the time combined with LOTS of trial and error. Today there's many books, videos, dvds, and forums where people share whipmaking information.Even though I've been making whips since 1991, I ordered this book recently to see if there's anything I can learn from him that I didn't think of before. Guess what? After just quickly skimming the book, I already saw some things that make the book worth well more than the purchase price. My advise to those interested in making whips is to glean all you can from what resources are available. And please realize all the resources will have shortcomings. Learning whip craft isn't like microwaving a Hot Pocket. It takes time and lots of trial and error. Invest in your craft. Get all the free resources you can, but don't be afraid to shell out a few bucks for some information.I appreciate Mr. Carpenter for putting in the effort to publish this book.Rhett KelleywhipmakerCow Whips dot com

Not worth the price.
Is not worth this price. I would consider $10. Black and white pictures, metric and standard unit measurements are scattered and unconverted. Written instructions are unclear. I bought this book to improve my whip making, and I am disappointed in it.

Not For Beginner's
I would not recommend this book to anyone who doesn't have some braiding knowledge. This book is not a good learning tool for beginner's. A lot of the directions are unclear. Some written directions are not what the photo for that step indicates. All in all the book is a confusing mess with the measurements being partial metric and standard. If you build the 4 foot whip as his directions state your 1st whip will look like a knarled tree limb club.
