Exactly what I expected
This is a set for the backpack gourmet who values comfort, but who has to make some sacrifices for weight. I wanted a reasonably light cookset for two that was small enough to be packable by an overnight kayaker -- which isn't the same as a backpacker since my boat can carry twice as much weight and gear as I can -- that is of decent quality, is durable and cleans up easily. I was tired of scrubbing egg residue out of my very old and tried-and-true stainless/copper bottom set. It's hard complain. This is ideal for two to three campers, distributes heat very well thanks to the dark, anodized finish, and my stove (a Brunton Talon), a firestarter or lighter, camp soap and a nylon cleaning rag all fit inside the kit which fits inside my backpack or dry bag. There are a few tradeoffs: I have used cookware with these style handles for years. What I have learned carries to this set as well: The handles are prone to being loose and swinging without being moved into position and they are not lockable. Still, I prefer this style to those with a single detachable (and potentially "losable") handle for all pans in the set since I sometimes cook with more than one pan. The skillet is a little smaller than I'd like and it has high sides. In fact, it's definitely more of a half-pan than a skillet. I won't be frying up a trout in it without some serious knife work.Again, these are more tradeoffs than criticisms.Light, yes, but not titanium light or backpacker-on-the-Appalachian-Trail light. Cheap, yes, but not aluminum cheap or titanium expensive. Teflon cleans VERY VERY easily, but, being Teflon, it will certainly eventually scratch or wear out. Durable, yes, but only time will tell and that Teflon won't last forever. My final note is that it compares nicely to my camping friend's MSR Blacklite system. I am pleased with the price and with the set. For those who cook for large groups, or hikers who want a cookset to weigh less than an empty tuna can, look elsewhere. But if you want to do more than boil water for a freeze dried meal (like cook up some fish, potatoes and eggs) without a lot of extra weight, this is a very good choice.EDIT: It has been four years since I wrote this review and I am still cooking with this cook set. I enjoy it very much and it is definitely my "go-to" set for group, family or car camping. I have migrated away from carrying pieces of this when I am only packing for one, usually opting to go with an ultralight set (freeze dried meals, meaning I only need to boil water and rehydrate food). The Teflon is holding on strong. I have used care with this set and if I could rate it higher than I did originally, I would, thanks to its longevity. This item has given its value back to me many times over. It's worth far more than it costs.

best bang for buck - quality, value, weight
fab set. i searched for over a year to find what i thought would be my best cook kit - not A or THE, but what works for me. no stainless yet those versions were sized perfectly difficult to clean and heavier, no Ti yet those versions were sized perfectly but not easy to clean and very lightweight and expensive...i wanted Anodized Aluminum for ease of cleaning, the fit, feel and weight. they nest well. they're sized bigger than i want as i wanted to be able to fit into an existing bag that's 12" in height (all dimensions are interior), 7 inches in width and depth. The nested size is just under 7" but it's so snug you cannot put in this bag with one hand without stressing the interior seams. the drawstring ditty bag that comes with is fair-poor b/c its a quality set and the bag is chintzy imo. i'd pay +$5 for a better cover/wrap. the handles im not fond of but its a give and take in trying to find that perfect fit as many of you understand my POV. so while the kit is high value, performs well, cleans easily, lightweight and meets/exceeds needs, its only detractors are the bag and meh handles. i solved the floppiness of the handles by using aristec 2" cooking bands which are heat resistant to 600 degrees F....i know great idea right! you'll be glad you chose this kit.

Great kit in a small package
This is a lightweight cooking kit that can be easily stored in a small package. The mesh bag that comes with the kit helps to keep things together nicely. The handles fold around the pans and are always connected to them for storage and easy access. The good thing about the handles is that they have a nice rubber grip to help keep the heat away while picking them up. They have a non stick coating and time will tell if that coating actually holds up. This kit is good for two people and it would do well if you are trying to pack a small light load. They work well and are easily cleaned. Because of the lightweight materials, they might show some bumps and dings but they have held up well. These are designer pots and pans here! I recommend this package if you are trying to pack small and light.
