This Book is a Joy
This book is a joy. The joy of finding out that I'm not a special creature custom-made by the almighty. And who else could offer such insight more reassuringly than Carl Sagan! This is a Pulitzer winner and deservedly. You could read it as an instruction manual as well as a brief developmental history of the gray treasure between your ears. This little book is as charming and fascinating as the human intelligence itself. "How can I persuade every intelligent person to read this important and elegant book?"

Another classic from Dr. Sagan
This is the second Carl Sagan book that I have read, and it turns out to be every bit as stimulating as the other book(Cosmos) I read by him. Here he goes on a journey where he tries to find answers to some long standing questions on the evolution of the human brain. If you are a fan of Dr. Sagan, this book is a must as it is yet another exemplary display of his intellect and ability to explain complicated ideas in a simple and lucid manner. It gives a very clear picture of the modern understanding of the human brain and what are the possibilities for the future.

just like a review somewhere read
An introspective book to be read leisurely, just like a review somewhere read: Carl Sagan is that teacher we always wanted but never had.

A stimulating read!
Neuroscience has developed a lot since Sagan wrote this book, but the value and readability of the book has in no way diminished, As you scan the pages I'm sure you'll get a glimpse of the workings of a creative mind. I would recommend this book to all those curious about the evolution of our brains and intelligence. By the way, if you want to witness the brilliance of Carl Sagan read also something like his 'Cosmos.'

A great book by the Great Sagan
This book is a once in a lifetime read. The famous astrophysicist writes a book on genetics that is equally mind boggling! Such spread and depth of knowledge made accessible to ordinary non scientist folks like us in a lucid and easy to understand manner really made the reading a spectacular journey for me. I wish the world had many more Sagan's to open our minds to such enlightening experiences. I plan to read the book over and over again.

In depth study of human evolution
A very in depth information about the evolution of human brain and comparison with other animals is made. Why is it that chimpanzee can't talk like us but can understand a great deal of sign language.

Lucid account of evolution of man and science.
A very interesting read for a layman or a person knowing science already. A great account and lucid explanation of discoveries, well-woven to present the evolution of man and science itself.
