Does it fit a laptop?

My laptop will fit in the case but not the lid organizer. The lid organizer is sectioned off into different size pockets. I have made a foam liner for the box for my Dell laptop and it fits well.

Does this fit the Pelican Stormcase im2500 case? If not, do you have one available for it?

There are dedicated lid organizers for each type of Pelican case. The 1519 for its size may fit but the predrilled holes for the attachment points may not match up with the IM2500 case. If that is indeed correct you can always use industrial Velcro to attach the lid organizer and not bother with the screw in attachments. Hope this helps. BTW, I have and use six different Pelican cases of various sizes. Several have lid organizers and I only attach them with industrial Velcro since in some cases I don't want to utilize the lid organizer and it is easier to remove. Understand, if you are really going to load the lid organizer with gear you need to use a lot of Velcro to attach the organizer.

Do you remove the foam padding in the top or is this installed over it?

I installed it without any foam padding. It just attaches to small bosses in the lid, that have pre-drilled holes. I found it a bit tricky to get some of the screws in, as you have to work through the mesh in the organizer, but once it is in place, it works great. Just be careful what you put in the pockets, as it will of course close on any gear in the case. Good luck!
