I bought these thinking that they'd be like all of the other sponges that I buy and try SO hard to keep clean (the smell) and end up dishwashing constantly and then throwing them out after a short time. These are actually FANTASTIC! I had zero expectations for these sponges because I'm VERY diligent about totally rinsing/squeezing/drying my sponges with cold water and ensuring all soap is out of them to prevent that nasty smell they inevitably get....but with other sponges, it just doesn't help. The dishwasher gets the smell out, but it's back days later if my son or significant other forgets to rinse even once. These are TOTALLY smell-free! I have been using the same one since I bought this package and there has been zero scent and I haven't even needed to throw it in the dishwasher once!! I'm so excited because I'm really sensitive to smells and am so tired of checking on...sponges(?) when I have better things to do. Not only do these stay smell-free....but they rinse out really easily and the scrubby side doesn't fray or wear down. The sponge has a "smooth" feeling that's hard to describe, but I'm guessing is somehow involved in how these stay free of bad smells and mold (maybe a coating?) I thought I was buying basic sponges and ended up being able to get rid of the many sponges that I'd keep out in the rotation while others were being cleaned/dried. Now I just have one of these on my sink that I use for everything and there's NO need to worry about mold/smells or any sort of maintenance. I can't even believe how great the price is considering you get a huge package of these and won't need to throw them away or have "back ups" since they work so well. They lather up as easily as they rinse and they dry quickly, too. Plenty of power to scrub in these sponges and the quality is evident as soon as you get them out and feel/use them. I hope they make these forever so that I never have to put a smelly sponge in the dishwasher, microwave, or trash can again! AWESOME and highly recommend! ***Update May 24th*** I'm STILL on the first sponge of this pack! No wear on the "scrub" area, no smell, no need to sterilize in the dishwasher/microwave and I still have 5 left! Smelly sponges is a huge "gross" factor in my kitchen stress and I'm amazed at this sponge. I don't know what they did differently, but when the teen and adult guys in my household leave it wet and full of soap.... still no smell. And the scrubby side looks like brand new after months of heavy use!

According to my Amazon search I've been ordering these for 9 years. Is it weird to love a sponge? I'm a stay at home mom/business owner so I have sponge needs which these fulfill wonderfully. Pro tip, put them on the top rack of the dishwasher to keep them fresh after big clean ups.

I like this sponge. Have been using it for a while now (month?) and it shows no signs of wear, It is used multiple times a day to wash dishes, scrub pots and pans, and clean off the countertops. Since it shows no signs of wear at this time, I consider it to be good value for the money. It is a comfortable size to handle, rinses out easily, and dries relatively quickly. This 6 pack should last me for a year, perhaps longer.

I've used a lot of scotch-brite all surface(blue) sponges over the years, and they work well for a while and then start to wear out. Ii was looking for something that would list longerand these seem like they will, though I've only been using of them for about a month now, so I'll see how they hold up. But I can say that the scrubbing side is different from the scoth-brite, it isn't "wire-ey" like them , it's one solid piece of material that doesn't tear off and shred, but doesn't scratch either like the scoth-brite, and the sponge side is a bit thicker than the scotch-brite and seems to be a good quality, for a kitchen sponge, one that probably won't disintegrate as quickly as some others do. They do cost more than the scotch-brite, but I'd s ay they're worth it, I use these things every day and like good cleaning things, and I'd say I would buy them again although these 6 should last quite awhile.

I got these because they were highly recommended by, I believe, by both America's Test Kitchen and Serious Eats. At the end of the day, it's a dish sponge. I'd just buy the Scott's old standby before. These aren't going to change your life and make you contemplate everything that you think you know about washing the dishes. But, they are a step up from the old stand by. The sponge side seems not too much different. I could be reading into it too much, but it does seem to stay "crisper" for longer, and it also doesn't seem to get funky as easily. The scrubber side, which makes this a "scrunge" is a big step up though. I usually have to use pink stuff or barkeepers friend on my most used stainless cookware every 2 weeks or so. This lets me extend that to a month. The scrub side seems to both last longer, and not get as gross as the traditional ones. And the fact that it isn't some super premium price upgrade currently will keep me sold on buying these instead.

Personally, I am not a fan of any kitchen sponge. I think it's mainly because they're disposable, and I have found using a good kitchen dish cloth works just as well if not better than a sponge, and you can throw it in the washer. My husband, however, will not touch a dish unless he has a kitchen sponge. For years we had been using the scotch bright yellow ones. I'm talking we bought them in huge quantity from Sam's....but they would only last a week or so before we had to dispose of them (and the smell, ugh). These OCedar sponges are like a breath of fresh air. They clean dishes really well, they scrub pots and pans extremely well and they don't scratch either. They don’t smell, the scrubbing part does not disintegrate and they last a very long time before they need replaced, and mainly that's because I think geez I can't remember when we last replaced these, so I'll bring out a new one. These are really great value for the quality of the sponge and the length of time that they last. Plus they really just work well. I would purchase them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them!

I read the reviews about these things coming apart but I haven't seen that. I'm about a month in and the 1st one still looks new. And they are MUCH better than the cheap Scott ones I used to get from Walmart.

Very pleased. scrubs well. holds its shape and doesn't shrink weirdly like others. Long lasting.

They start breaking down very quickly. Do not recommend.
