Ecrits: The First Complete Edition in English

As the title says, this is the first complete edition of Lacan's seminars translated in English. The translation was made by Bruce Fink, a Lacanian psychoanalyst and professor at the Duquesne University. Lacan is perhaps notorious for being difficult to understand and this book is not for beginners. It would be nice if the reader already has a prior knowledge of basic Lacanian concepts, such as the mirror stage, the RSI knot as well as how the unconscious is structured like a language. I highly recommend this book to readers who want to have an in-depth knowldege on various topics discussed by Lacan.

Lacan is one of THE 20th century masters. Essential.

This has been really useful for my dissertation for my BA (hons) in Photojournalism, and I hope that it will prove useful throughout the rest of my Degree.

If u can understand lacan, its brilliant its his entire lifes work summaries in a incomprehensible book, but amazing once your able to understand it

The seller Couldtail needs to do a better job with packaging. Came in thin plastic envelope. Hence, severe dents at the edges. Only reason I decided not to return is the spine is still intact. Plus I paid just around 1000 rupees for this classic work. Paper quality and print are of high quality. But the cover is very thin. And the binding is not so robust. I have no doubt it will break midway through my reading.

It is amazing to see more modern French psychology and the mirror phase of being young happen, where identity is formed and the minus psi phenomena. This book is advanced for the time it was written and is more technological in the sense it is helping people understand terms in more modal terms which allows after reading naturally a very easy means of understanding technology just by the style in which it is written. Freud and Jung do not offer anything but basic lingo that could support anything more than a battery in terms of equivocally complex communications.
