Best clamps I’ve ever used
I’m an artist and use these clamps to assemble panels. Let me just say most clamps have me in tears because they hurt my hands so bad my. Not these ones! They’re also stronger than the numerous other kinds that made me cry, not painful to use, and super effective. Don’t waste your money on other clamps. save yourself some time and get these ones.

Very sturdy one handed clamps
I have several sets of these @12" and @24" and they are far superior to other brands, the extra cost is worth it. I bought these to do some work on a roof gravel stop where I had to apply significant pressure to rebend and fasten the sheet metal to the facia. You can apply a lot more force with these than with other lever clamps. The wide jaws are great to hold stock in place.

A "HUGE" improvement on the original
You, know, I've been replacing some of my old, wore out tools lately and this is the second(and third because I bought 2) clamp that I bought in the last month(see my review of "Olympia Tools 38-158 8" X 4" Quick Release C Clamp" that when I opened the box, my jaw dropped, these are huge! Lol, I just figured it was Amazon putting a small item in a big box again! I bought these to replace a pair of the original 6" Irwin clamps that I broke and had already tossed so I couldn't comparing them, but these thing are massive! Like the other reviewer said, these 2nd gen clamps have much more clamping force then the old ones I had, which broke while spreading, these worked much better at the same task, it took less operator input and they didn't bend as much as my old ones either. I have very large hands so the increased size for me is a bonus, but my much smaller wife had a little difficulty with them so keep that in mind. I really like the included jaw pad thing, which allows you to use these in place of the more expensive parallel bar clamps but you can take it off to get more clearance. Irwin kind of has a choke hold on the market, I have tried many other brands of these quick release clamps and they just are not as good. I think the original Irwin clamps are still a good idea to keep around as these Gen 2 clamps might not be able to get in to a tight spot as well, but I most definitely will be purchasing these in other sizes, these are the best of the best if this is the type of clamp your looking for.

XP600 are way better than the basic
These are PERFECT for my glue ups. While it only has a capability of 600 ft lb of force, it is just right for the pressure I am applying to the panels I glue up. They are sturdy and very easy to use. I've dropped a couple on the shop floor and the plastic casing didn't break. If you need heavy clamping force these are NOT for you. I suggest the Bessey K-Body clamps that offer 1,500 ft lb of force but are more expensive. These set very easy and allow me to operate them with one hand since I can just keep clamping to bring the jaws together on the work piece. Would have given it 5 stars, but its made in China, and some of the key components should have been made out of steel. I still like them though and have 10 in the shop.

A useful extra hand.
I can’t say how much I love these clamps. It has to be one of my top ten favorites and I have lots of tools. This is great for the person who is almost always working alone but needs something held in place. I have used it to hold fence board in place while I screwed them in also to hold my compound miter saw while cutting vertical dock 6x6 posts off. I have also used them with a socket to push in brake calipers. I could go on.

A very, very, very sturdy and decent designed product
My application is a little bit creative... I use it to clip my Ducati's 190mm tire so I can uh... break the bead and install a new valve stem. It actually worked. I'm pleasantly surprised that it has the force powerful enough to clip and break the bead for a considerably wide Michelin tire. Anyway, Irwin makes good product, doesn't matter where it is made, I'm ok for expensive item as long as it worked.

A beast of a clamp
I saw one of these converted to a hydraulic coupling tool and since the already converted tool is so expensive, I decided to make my own. Basically when hydraulic implements are attached and detached from skid loaders and other tool carriers, pressure can build as the temps change and when you go to re-attach, the couplings cannot be pressed together by hand. The solution was to open the fitting slightly letting pressure out. That makes a little mess and takes tools and time. This works great with its high 600 pound rating and presses the fitting together without a fuss.

Worth the extra money
Bought 2 of these to replace a couple of cheap ones from C.T. that were kept falling apart. These were much more sturdier and although a bit pricy, they are far better quality.
