Would this make the guitar a lot quieter for practicing? Or is it just for preventing feedback when amplified?

I've used this product on many different guitars over the last 25 or so years...yes, it slightly quiets the guitar, but only by maybe 20-25% at most. Just keep in mind, that isn't what this product is initially designed for, but does help some

It cuts down on the feedback when you are playing through an amp. I would not use it otherwise. To answer your question it does not mute the sound a whole lot.

Does it fit a Baby Taylor bt2?

It fits my Taylor 110 firm. If the sound hole is the same circumference of the 110ce then yes. If not no.
