2011 album from the Country singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Guitar Slinger is the follow-up to his critically acclaimed box set, These Days, which was certified platinum, won the 2006 Grammy for Best Country Album and received an overall Grammy Album of the Year nomination. After a long and musically productive spell of writing, touring and recording with other artists, Vince Gill released the lead track "Threaten Me With Heaven". Gill co-wrote "Threaten Me With Heaven" with his wife, singer/songwriter Amy Grant, Dillon O'Brian and Will Owsley.

Vince Gill Sings The Blues
Guitar Slinger was released in October 2011 and reached number 4 on the country album charts.Oklahoma born Vince Gill released his first solo album in 1984 and went on to have great success in the nineties. In 2013 appeared with Eric Clapton at the Crossroads guitar festival and performed Lay Down Sally with him as well as a storming version of Aint Living Long Like This with guitarist Albert Lee from The Hot Band who backed Emmylou Harris.I bought the deluxe edition of the disc and it is definitely the edition to purchase.Great stuff

As a Vince Gill fan, I have been trying to buy this cd for over a year now. Vince Gill cds at one time easy to find at British retailers. Not now. What a shame.

Quelques ballades suspendues en famille ("Who Wouldn't Fall In Love With You" avec Jenny Gill, "True Love" avec Amy Grant).

Vince Gill and Guitar Slinger
Vince Gill is absolutely fabulous to listen to and a wonderful guitarist. This latest album is a joy to listen to and I hear it every day, in the car and at home. The tracks with his wife are lovely and typical country, the fast tracks are also country but a different sort. I LOVE IT

Worth the wait! No doubt about it !
It's always nice to sometimes spin something different than my beloved 60's/70's British blues/prog and ECM jazz. By accident I heard Vince(and some notable others) in mid 90's when the CMT was available in Europe on cable tv. I've been tracing his career ever since and stopped buying his records with excellent High Lonesome Sound. The Guitar Slinger is worth the loooong wait.I am not too much fond of the Lynne-like wall of sound but the quality of songs and musicianship makes me forget about it.Also,I am happy to note that Vince does not stick to the Strat sound in extenso(Eric from Surrey, will you follow???).He knows how to and he can squeeze more juice from heavier guitars :-)Strongly recommended not only to country fans!Cheers !ps Deluxe Edition? Not necessarily....
