1 Inch Rusco / Vu-Flow 100 Mesh Spin Down Sediment Water Filter with One Additional Replacement Screen

My drip irrigation emitters were getting clogged despite the Y filters at head of each of the irrigation circuits. So I decided to purchase the Rusco spin down filter and install it right after the pressure on the water line coming from the well. The Rusco spin down filter installed easily (of course, I had to cut and glue some PVC pipe) and it looked well designed and well made.Now I've had it installed for almost 2 months and I have not had the drip emitters clog since installing the spin down filter. Of course, I have not noticed as much sand being filtered out as I expected. I flushed the filter a couple of times but I don't think there was enough sand accumulated to be worth doing it. Perhaps the well stopped sucking up sand or the spin down filter works like magic .. I will wait and see if I have any problems next year with emitter clogging.

The unit looks to be the perfect solution to my household water problem of limestone clogging up my plumbing as well as hot water heater. However when I received the unit I found great instillation instructions which calls for 140 mesh filter instead of the 100 mesh it shipped with. I can't seem to find any contact information for the distributor to see about exchanging / ordering the correct mesh? I had to give it 3 stars only because of the lack of application guide for filter mesh in the listing and not having a customer service & parts contact either on or in the box??

These filters are great for well water...will protect equipment such as softeners, etc. from getting filled with sand if well cavity collapses. I've used them for years and always recommend installing them on well water. The clear housing allows you to see particles coming from the well, but will also become occluded with oxidized iron and even algae if installed outdoors. They can be used to introduce chlorine to the lines if they need to be disinfected. Good product.

A must-have for anyone with well water and sediment! Easy to plumb in (right after our well pump and before our 1st filter) and super simple to flush out and clean. This filter has been in use for a few months without any issues thus far.
