The Essential Guide to Crystals, Minerals and Stones

First of all, let me tell you this book is gorgeous!! The beautiful design and layout really make it a joy to look at. The font is easy to read, with enough space in between to write down notes. The photos of each crystal are ~crystal clear~, although I do wish the author would’ve used pictures of both the raw and tumbled varieties of each stone, rather than one or the other.This book is best suited for someone who has an interest in the metaphysical aspects of the stones. There are a few fascinating scientific facts pertaining to each one, but remember that this book was written by an author who works primarily with reiki, so for those looking for a traditional book on solidified facts about crystals and minerals, you’re most likely best to avoid this one.For those looking for deeper meaning and to do a bit of soul searching, I highly recommend this book! It’s simple enough to follow along, yet detailed to the point when after you’re done, you feel like you know what you’re doing a little more.Pros:-gorgeous layout, easy to read, full color-detailed explanations of how to work with your stones for full spiritual potential-includes common varieties of each stone, and how they pertain to the metaphysical worldCons:-amazon decided to ship my book in a soft package, which exposed it to bends and page damage. Seriously?! For a new book, I expected crisp and NEW pages. (No fault of the author)-Very little proven science shown in this book! It would be helpful to include more viewpoints for a well rounded perspective*UPDATE*I contacted Amazon and they sent me a new copy, still in a soft package but in much better condition. Beware of seller packaging!

This was a store copy in a crystal shop and I had to buy it because I loved it and I am so glad I did I have recommended it to friends and family.

While I purchased this book, primarily as a gift, a thumb through revealed that this is one more tuned to the metaphysical aspects of stones, though it delves a little into what the stone is actually made of from a more scientific stand point. Many of the stones revealed here are well known although not all stones are mentioned as I could not find at least one or two that are my faves mentioned here. Almost everything else is and some are even showcased that have different aspects depending on color. Nonetheless, this does make a handy guide for either beginner or adept as one seeking to find the more unusual stones or one seeking to renew an old reliable standby that has been somehow lost. For those wanting to know what the stones can do rather than merely what they are, this is a very good guide, one well represented with beautiful illustrations of the stones and a more comprehensive explanation as to their more mystical aspects. While it is a very good guide, and one I recommend for anyone interested, it is better to also have other books to showcase any stones it fails to mention--or are too new to be mentioned at the moment, since the subject of stones is an ever expending one.

Very informational and simple for beginners to start learning. Each crystal has physical, emotional, spiritual, and affirmation section. Not too many crystals I couldn’t find in this book.

What an awesome book! I have a huge collection of crystal books by Judy Hall, Michael Gienger, Melody, Peschek-Bohmer just to name a few. This book is definitely one of my favorites. It is beautifully done. The information for each rock and mineral is detailed. She describes the Emotional, Physical, Mental, Spiritual and Divine Guidance for each stone and has all the correspondences to each mineral or crystal also. Examples are the Chakras, Planets, Numbers, Elements and Astrology sign. And if this wasn't enough she has nice Appendices in the back naming correspondences in one handy spot for Angels, Chakras, Zodiac, Professions, Grids and more.As a seller of crystals and minerals and just someone who loves rocks and crystals this will be my go-to book for any information I'm looking for.

I am on the start of my Pagan/Witchcraft Journey and this book is excellent! Very detailed covering all the basis and even more. Worth the read even if your path differs to mine.

This is an excellent book! It contains a wealth of information about everything from each gemstones corresponding Chakra, planet, Archangel to the basic chemical makeup of the stones. It gives a breakdown of mental, physical and emotional applications for each stone. Several appendices are interesting as well. I love the stone grid layout suggestions and great color photographs.The only thing I think would improve this book was if the pictures showed each types rough and polished appearance. The pictures arent always rough nor polished, it varies throughout the book. This is a great handbook for healing stone enthusiasts!

This book has been on my desk since I got it. I am constantly going back to it for information. I will not even consider putting it in the bookshelf I use it so much. There is so much information in this book on how to use the crystals: for body, mind and spirit.She even gives a reading for if you are drawn to a crystal.The pictures are gorgeous and help you in identifying the crystals if you already own some.She covers how to use them with your chakras, and how to use them to make grids.Love this books so much.

If you are interested in the more of a metaphysical approach to working with minerals, stones and crystals this is the book for you. It has a nice alphabetical list of them, even of those which are not that common, and this aspect I find this guide to be rather comprehensive. I have spent many an evening since I had purchased this book reading and rereading each mineral's description and its emotional/spirtual and physical use as its truly a read that is nurturing to my soul.

Great reference crystal book!It provides alphabetical information on 160 crystals, to assist you to improve your life 'mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually'.I am very happy with this book purchase.

This book has lovely pictures and alot of information, for crystal collectors it is a must read.Well written informative and in my opinion one of the best crystal books around

This was my first experience with M. A. Lembo, & I found a lot of new information in this book.

This is a sense book with a ton of information on stones and crystals, just what I was looking for. Focus is mostly on the metaphysical which is perfect for my enchanted jewelry making but the book’s spine is damaged which is very disappointing. It clearly was thrown onto my doorstep and creased along the spine.
