Used which I didnt catch till I got it not that that was an issue. I read all the info before i bought it & no where did i find that it would not work on my system. I didnt return it because i can still use it on an older system for clients. It was also a great value for the price. Just needed a better description written for it.

Fantastic Video Capture Device!
I review Wii games for youtube and amazon. I have tried a couple others but this one has been the most reliable and best quality. Its as easy as going into the program, then hitting capture...as long as your using XP. If your using Vista it gets more tricky. You have to go to there website and download the USB drivers so it will work. It's not as easy as there other updates to find, you have to search for it.My only other complaint is that you can only record MPG. I would have liked the option to record in AVI, since I use Adobe Premiere Elements and it can't handle MPG. I have to convert everything I do.However, these complaints don't take away from the product itself. It's easy to use, and produces excellent quality. Buy it now!

When they say "old"... they mean it.
This unit will not run on any system beyond Windows XP. If you have Windows 7 or 10... there are no drivers for this unit. I spent about three hours searching the net... none found.

Dazzle Platinum - Mini DV tapes to DVD
I have had this product for a month. Set up on my computer and capturing videos from my mini DV camcorder was quite easy using a firewire connection. I am using Windows XP Pro with 2 GB Memory. Editing the movie and adding subtitles was easy but adding music and the more advanced functions were more difficult. Making the movie and burning to a DVD disc was erratic. It would work fine for 20 to 30 minutes into the operation and burning to the DVD disc would then freeze while the making movie part would continue. Once this happens, the DVD drive had difficulty opening and you have to restart your computer to open it and restart the make movie and burn process on a new disc. Eventually it worked. On playback to TV, occassionally the picture would freeze for a second to 20 seconds before it proceed. Most annoying.

Creator Platinum works great!
Dazzle Creator Platinum is a first-class product, but it is important to know that it only works properly with a computer restart AFTER ALL SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE INSTALLATION. The software clearly requires a re-start, but there is no mention of it for the hardware. After installing the hardware (following installation of the software as instructed in the "getting started" pamphlet) I encountered the problems mentioned in many of the reviews, but after a final computer re-start the system worked perfectly. I recommend a computer re-start each time the hardware is connected.

Would not buy again
This could be my own fault for not doing enough research but I foolishly figured that it should work out of the box. After screwing around with various cords (which I knew I was going to have to do anyway) I go to test it out. Only to find out there is no driver being read. Ok, so I go to their site only to find out that the Dazzle I have does not work with my PC. At all. The drivers for it only go up to 32 bit and I have a 64 bit. I contacted the company and their only advice was to upgrade. Thanks. So, I will be upgrading. But not to another Dazzle. As I said, maybe it's my own fault. I'm not super tech savvy so I didn't even think to check to see if the bits matched up. I checked to see if it worked with Windows 7, which it does, just not a 64 bit PC. Next time while doing research I will make sure to check the driver status reviews and make damn sure mine either comes with driver software that works on installation of the device or that there is an upgrade available for my PC.

Greatness in the Dazzle line.
I have several different Dazzle models and this is my favorite. The software is great but the product is strong, durable and easy to use. I even have the models that require external power but this one works much better and is alway recognized by my laptop. I prefer to use XP when digitizing with Pinnacle Studio.
