I love the DJI Flip!
This is the first new drone I've purchased in a while. I've been using my Phantom 3 and Phantom 4 for many years, and I've had so many great times filming with them, but there's always been a few things that bugged me, barriers to flying I guess you could say. The Flip has solved some of those issues for me. Starting with it's size, the Flip can fit in the front pocket of my jumper, or easily into a backpack. It makes getting it around so much easier. No more having to take the big case in the car. Setting up is super easy too. Just flip it open and it's automatically on. I can take off without a remote if I want, and it'll just follow me around. Quite different from the phantoms, adding props, finding a flat take off and landing space, setting up the remote, setting up the phone to connect to the remote... Weight class - With the flip only being 249 grams, it relaxes some of the rules around where I can and can't fly. With the Phantom, if I track my self on the bike, and cross paths with someone, I'm supposed to bring the drone down, or keep it 50m away from them. With the flip, I can just leave it doing it's thing. It comes under the same weight category as a toy, but isn't technically classed as a toy because of it's camera. Speaking of camera, this thing really puts out some amazing video for its size. One of the fall backs of the DJI Neo, and ultimately the reason I didn't get one of those was because the video is quite a step back. The Phantom 3 is over 10 years old at this point, but even it makes the Neo footage look rough. That wasn't going to work for me, I needed something on par, and the Flip does that. There are ND filters and other kinds of attachable lenses for the Flip, and these can help take the footage up a notch. Flight time is superb as well. I usually stop my flights at around 25 - 30% battery, and that means I get about 20 minutes per charge, give or take. Of course, you'll get more if you want to use that last bit of the battery. I'd recommend getting extra batteries and stopping sooner, your batteries will thank you for it and they will live longer. Stability in the wind is good here, but it's not invincible. I had it out in some 19mph winds, with gusts being a little higher, and it handled itself. The body was sitting at a near 45 degree angle fighting the wind, but it was doing it, and the footage still looked stable. I don't normally fly in windy conditions, but I did test my drones when I first got them, and did the same here because I wanted to get a physical feel for what it can and can't manage. The range is just what I need. I don't push the limits of what is advertised on this, but I do take note of the signal strength and video feed stability when I'm sending it far out. I've gone to 1.5 miles in line of sight and had no issues with the connection. I think that's about as far as I'd brave it, but I think it could do a good bit more. One thing worth noting is that when connecting using only a phone, the range is fairly limited. This is due to it being powered by Wifi. The Automated flight modes are great. I enjoy the follow me mode. It's reliable, and also safest due to the drone being able to stop when there's an obstacle. It'll follow your path and keep you in view. There's other modes light dronie, spotlight, and more. There's a custom mode that can be changed in the app, and this is where direction track is found. Direction track is the coolest mode I think. It works in the same way as the follow mode, but instead of being behind the user, it stays in the direction it started in. If it starts in front of you, it tries to stay there, if it starts beside you, it'll try and stay there. It can be a little unpredictable sometimes though, so I'd recommend this one be used in an open space. I think the DJI Flip offers the best balance of features of all the DJI drones. It has the simplicity of the Neo, fast and fun, the autonomy of a blogging drone, a great camera, and a long range remote control. If you're looking to step into the world of drones for the first time, I think this is the drone you should go for.

Top drone that spans from notice to advanced experience with stunning footage and capabilities.
As a new drone user, I have tried out several models with varying experiences. So when it came to the Flip, I was not too sure whether it would match more traditional drones. It doesn't - the Flip beats them! First it is extremely easy for a novice to use - the choice of operations (mobile, voice, gesture, control) give plenty of scope and the step by step videos build confidence quickly. The done has a simple return to home so you don't worry that it'll get lost and the blade guards, whilst a bit noiser, really do let you fly without fear. With several novice drones, you compromise the quality for ease. Not so with Flip - the video footage is amazing and the editing tools will keep you developing as a pro drone content creator. The beauty of this drone is that you can enjoy it all with a few clicks or shoot advanced flight sequences as your skills progress. It will challenge you as much as you are ready to take on the next level. Battery life is good, the fly more package with the screen on the controller is well worth the money if you can stretch to it. The after care package and support give an overall 5 star to this drone.

Blown away as a first time drone user
This is my first ever drone and honestly, I’m blown away by the DJI Flip. As someone with zero previous experience, I found it incredibly easy to set up, fly and control. Within minutes I was confidently navigating it around without feeling overwhelmed. The camera quality is absolutely superb. I’m glad I chose this model over the slightly higher-spec DJI option, especially since they share the exact same camera. The few reduced specs on this model (range, sensors, etc.) really don’t matter for a beginner — you’d barely notice the difference unless you’re flying professionally or pushing it to extreme conditions. The stabilisation is brilliant, footage looks smooth and sharp, and the response time while flying feels very natural. Battery life is decent for such a compact drone, and the whole thing is unbelievably portable — literally pocketable — so it’s ideal for taking out on walks or days out. Overall, for a first-time user, this drone is perfect. Fantastic camera, super easy to fly, and excellent value. I’m genuinely impressed and really glad I picked this version.

Bargain
This price doesn't make sense. Great build quality , fantastic remote, decent video quality , great stabilisation , the only hiccup was it launched towards my toddler because she reached out to point it and the drone thought it was a landing gesture . Very easy to use and compact size .

All Flip, no Flop
Not going to bore anyone with a long review - look online for youtube reviews - there are tonnes. In short, I'm very impressed with this drone - it is lightweight sub 250 g (249g) so it makes it less restrictive to fly than heavier drones, but you'll still need to register it to fly in the UK and use an independent app to check for areas that are closed to drone flying. Fly More Pack was definitely worth it - so too is the DJI insurance for losing or damaging the drone, which no one seems to mention, especially if you're new to DJI drones. So factor a little more cash into the registration and insurance. Drone is not as loud as I was worried it would be - casued mainly because the rotor blades are encased by a cover which generates more buzz - it's technically louder than the Neo but the Flip sounds quieter - doesn't make the same irritating sound - but it's not as a quiet as an open propeller drone - so if that's important to you, bear that in mind. Battery flight time is decent - fluctuates depending on wind, but I was getting close to 30 minutes operating time when it was calmer and was doing a lot of hover shots - less if I'm zipping the drone around a lot to cover a ton of distance. The RC2 controller which is optional is excellent and boosts the range of the drone significantly - it's not cheap but can be used with other DJI drones if you decide to upgrade the flip later and not having to use your phone means you can make sure the RC2 is juiced up withot having to worry you'll be disturbed mid flight by calls or having to sacrifice taking calls while flying if necessary. Anyways, really happy with the FLIP, so if you're on the fence and not aesthetically shallow as it looks quite different and less streamline compared to say the Mini 4 Pro - despite having the same camera processor ability - images and video are excellent and the self filming modes are more than sufficient for vlogger requirements.

Drone previously registered
Great drone but arrived having previously been registered a few months ago. Be aware that this shop isn't dji direct but a shop called Urs Choice Store who's customer service to resolve the matter is not good

Very very good indeed
Incredible, I bought this on impulse to take on an upcoming trip and didn’t really know what I was buying tbh, I just wanted a basic beginner drone but it seems like this is a good time to buy a first drone as the technology and features are mind blowing nowadays and the prices seemed to have come way down from where they were at a few years ago. This drone is truly mind blowing , the autonomous shooting modes are amazing, the camera quality is next level, the options to control it are many and varied (phone, voice, stick controller or fully auto) and you can adjust everything via the phone / controller including all the camera settings while in flight! I’m going to be going through the feature set for the next few months lol there’s so much it can do. Battery life is decent, it’s super portable and it’s very easy to fly for a beginner, I highly recommend the Flip.

A credit to DJI, unbelievable little drone.
I am so impressed with the quality of this drone, not only is it fun to fly but it is exceptionally well built. So why do I say this? Well on 11th July I was flying it on the Cooley mountains in Southern Ireland, if you are not familiar with this range of mountains, they face the Mourne mountains overlooking Carlingford Lough. I crashed the drone into the side of the mountain and after extensive searching I located it with the Air 3S, but it was still not easy to locate of foot and everything looks different from the ground. On the 28th of July it was eventually retrieved from the top of the mountain. During this time, we had a few very bad days of heavy rain. So, to our surprise when we recovered the drone it booted up right away like it had just come out of the bag there was still enough power in the battery to take it for a flight; I did do a quick flight in the house without any issues. Two days later I took it out for a proper fly around and it was like it had never been left out in the elements for 17 days. This is a credit to DJI and their manufacturing processes. If you are thinking about buying this don't think any longer, it is worth every penny, the 4K video is good enough for using online and the images are decent also. I wouldn't recommend leaving it out in the rain or flying it in the rain, but it really surprised me, I thought I would have to send it back to DJI and make a claim on my DJI care refresh! But no need, it's still as good as when I bought it in February.

The Perfect Balance for Vloggers and Travelers!
I’ve been using the DJI Flip for a couple of weeks now, and opting for the two-battery combo with the standard RC-N3 remote (the one without the built-in screen) was absolutely the right move for my budget and workflow. If you want high-quality drone footage without carrying a massive gear bag, this setup hits the perfect sweet spot. The auto power-on feature when you unfold the arms is a total game-changer, allowing me to go from having it in my jacket pocket to launching it directly off my palm in about 15 seconds. For someone who likes shooting close-up tracking shots in tight spaces and around trees, the full-coverage foldable propeller guard gives massive peace of mind, and the fact that it folds up right along with the drone makes it incredibly portable. Video quality is stunning because the 1/1.3-inch sensor punches way above its weight, delivering 4K/60fps HDR footage that looks incredibly crisp with surprisingly clean low-light performance during sunset. While the premium controller with the built-in screen looks cool, I actually prefer using my smartphone with the standard remote because the DJI Fly app runs flawlessly, it saves me a chunk of cash, and I don't have to worry about charging a separate screen. The single-battery version of this drone just isn't enough flight time once you factor in setup and getting your framing right. Having two batteries gives me about an hour of total flight time, which is plenty for a full day of casual vlogging and capturing travel b-roll. There are just a couple of minor things to keep in mind before buying. Because it is designed to be under 249 grams to avoid strict registration rules, it can get pushed around a bit in heavy winds, though the gimbal does a stellar job keeping the actual footage perfectly stable. Additionally, depending on the exact retail bundle, this two-battery option sometimes requires you to charge the batteries one by one inside the drone via USB-C, so you might want to pick up a separate charging hub if you hate waiting. Overall, if you are a solo creator, traveler, or vlogger who wants cinematic 4K shots without the hassle of a massive drone setup, this combo is safe, smart, and doesn't break the bank.
