Solid Media Player for FM radio, MP3 audio, and video on the go
I got this mp3 to use at the gym as both a radio (tv sound on the treadmill) and music player. For the last couple of weeks its been a solid little media player. Pros: - Includes everything you need (headphones, USB cable sd card) - Battery lasts me a 10+ days at the gym. - Solid build quality for the price. if i accidentally drop a weight on it, it might survive - its cheap enough to replace if destroyed or lost - The pre-installed apps work great. - The FM radio works with my bluetooth earbuds (needs any 3.5mm cord plugged in for antenna) - Included SD card offers plenty of space for songs and videos. - easily expand the storage by adding a bigger SD card. - plays n.264 and n.265 videos via software and hardware encoding - supports subtitles for video - Easily transfer media over wifi, or pop-out the sd card. Cons: - No google play store - No support for sideloading android apps out of the box (but included apps work well enough for me) - Running an older version of Anrdoid (8.1.0) December 2021

Would look elsewhere if buying it for using 3rd party apps
Pretty useless out of the box for my purposes (a cheap device for kids to listen to music). Pre-installed 3rd party apps didn’t reliably work, which is a problem, since you can’t easily download apps nor update pre-existing ones (updates in settings is for the OS, not the apps). Spotify and Spotify Kids were outdated, and so had authentication problems preventing successful login (could log-in via Chrome, which lags and is inconvenient). Reached out to customer support, who asked that I pay $50 for a 30 minute phone call to address the issue, though they acknowledged that the pre-installed software it arrived with was out of date.

Kindle app doesn't work due to older android version
11 year old daughter was super excited about this mp3 player. Played music as expected but the older android software (that you apparently cannot update) doesn't support the newest Kindle app. The kindle app came pre-installed on the device so you would expect it to work. So I ended up returning it and getting a different mp3 player with a newer software version to support the Kindle app.

it’s a fun, safe, and high-quality media player!
This MP3 player is a great option! It has 80GB of storage, which means there’s lots of space for songs, videos, and audiobooks. The 4-inch screen is clear and the design is simple, so it’s easy to use. I also like that it supports Bluetooth and WiFi, which makes it convenient to connect wireless headphones and stream music when needed.I’m

Does not work well
The apps on the phone do not work...the Kindle version installed is out of date and wont open books, and everything works way to slow. Haven't even been able to downlaod music it is so slow.I gave it to my granddaughter for her birthday and she was so excited...now she is devastated. I am 1 day past being able to return it to Amazon

Perfect little Pocket Mp3/ereader!
Know that this is designed for children, so there is no App Store. However, I was able to download Libby via the internet browser. The app icons are bubbly looking & I hoped I could change the look of them, but I have not been able to figure that out yet. The Q8 functions well otherwise for my purposes. I just wanted to be able to use it as a backup device for my audiobooks, because my children like to use my phone for Spotify sometimes. I got the kids version because the price was better & the blue color was super cute to me! I found a clear case, and have mini stickers on the way to decorate the back. It's a perfect size for my pocket. I had not trouble connecting it to my internet & bluetooth devices.

Great MP3 player for older and younger kids
MP3 player was easy to setup and easy for my 7 year old to use. She enjoys listening to music and being able to watch videos on how to draw. The size is perfect for younger and older kids. The battery life last them for several days. Easily connects to the internet when we are home or Bluetooth when we are out and about.

Not really sure this can just be called an "mp3" player. It's basically a full Android device but without a SIM card and no Google Play. Has a really good selection of apps pre-installed to listen to music, watch videos, stream and read books (though your eyes may get tired on the small screen). It does lack Google Play, so might be harder to install more apps unless you know what you are doing. It's running Android 9 which is a little out of date now and the device doesn't have any security updates available, so don't necessarily expect this to be kept up-to-date. The processor seems a little under-powered if you're comparing to the latest mobile phone in your pocket, but is plenty good enough to use for the purposes that it is designed for. Having a Micro-SD card slot in the side is very useful to expand the storage or copy media on. Note that if it reports that a good card is damaged and needs to be formatted, reboot the device with the card in first before taking any more drastic action. There seems to be a small bug where ejecting the card physically without doing a software eject first causes the card to not be recognised when re-inserting. I won't explain here, but the fix is to just reboot it. Comes with both wifi and Bluetooth and will happily connect to different headphones with no trouble. Included web browser means videos can be watched on YouTube or similar, and it can be used just for looking at the web (noting CPU speed issues above). Charges up fast and battery will last a long time if playing music. It will run down much faster if the screen is on, however, so it won't last as long if e.g. watching videos or reading eBooks. Overall though a really neat cross over between a phone and a standard basic MP3 player, some of which can cost nearly as much as this device does these days.

This item arrived the next day via Amazon Prime and was packaged in a simple carboard retail box that also included accessories (e.g., charge cable, wired earphones, wristband) and instructions. PROS -Plug and play design; simple to connect to a laptop or desktop and you can simply drag music files from existing folders to begin transferring them to the music player. I was also able to connect a Beats Audio speaker to the Bluetooth without any issue. -Being able to connect to existing music hubs is a huge benefit that a number of modern mp3 players do not offer. -While most of my collection is mp3, several were different file types and the player was still able to to detect at least some of them (FLAC, WAV, MP4). -80GB memory can be expanded. You could reasonably transfer and watch movies. -I like that you can use old school wired earphones through the 3.5 audio jack or connect headphones wirelessly via Bluetooth. There is also a USB-C port for wired earbuds but I was not able to test since I don't own that kind. -There are other features such as radio or audio books which I did not try but the screen on this is actually large enough (would still be quite small). -Asking price of $65 CAD seems quite reasonable. CONS -This is better for individuals who already have a music collection stored somewhere. If you are building a music library from scratch just for this device, be prepared for a time consuming process. -Even if you have a music collection sitting around, just the transfer process from your computer to the MP3 player may take hours, and could easily take a day if you are filling the memory storage to capacity (would literally take tens of thousands of songs). More mainstream apps such as Apple Music and Spotify have certainly simplified the process. -Decent battery life; it says playback time upwards of 25 hours but I was not able to replicate anything near that. -I wish this would allow other apps than those that come preloaded.

Update (Oct 20/24): I was sent a replacement very promptly that seems to be working excellently. Thanks so much for addressing my issue so quickly! Hello, I purchased this two months ago. I need to exchange or get a refund please. The music player will not turn on no matter how long it charges (and yes I checked that the charger is working fine).

Screen is broken. So it still charges, still sounds like I'm selecting apps, but can't see anything. Broke after a couple of weeks 😕, within the return window. I struggle with overwhelm and couldn't get round to this task until now. Frankly, I expect that a music player that costs over $100 will last at least a year, and so expect it to be covered by Australian consumer laws where there is a reasonable expectation of fitness and use.
