Asolo Torino 20-Degree Rectangular Down Filled Sleeping Bag (Green, Medium)

The bag is alright, but probably not for me. Yes it's light, but that's compared to non-down bags. Compared to other down bags (those for $100 less) it's a full lb heavier. That I knew before getting it, though. Probably like you if you're looking here, I don't like the idea of mummy bags, feeling trapped. But having taken this out in ~40-degree weather, it's starting to make sense. The only reason the bag is warm is your body heat. So the foot area where your legs *aren't* get really cold. If I shift around while sleeping, it's cold enough to wake me up.I also really missed having somewhere to set my pillow. Other bags have the extra area around the top for your head/pillow, handy when it's very cold outside. Without that, it was tough to really get comfortable.Bag is well-made, although do note it is left-hand zip unlike your typical bag. When I used it, I used it upside-down so the zipper could be reached from my tent door. One benefit of NOT having the head rest, I guess... No complaints on quality, it's just very expensive for a bag that has serious backpacker qualities (lighter, packs up small, 20-degree rating) but doesn't actually seem to take that seriously. Probably why it was discontinued.There are other not-overly-mummy mummy bags that would work better, if you're looking for a colder-weather hiking bag!
