These things are tough. I’ve driven screws into wood, metal, questionable materials I probably shouldn’t admit to, and the Makita bits just keep going. They don’t strip, they don’t round off, and they don’t suddenly decide to become decorative shrapnel like the bargain‑bin ones. The best part? They’re inexpensive enough that I don’t feel like I’m using museum pieces, but durable enough that I’m not replacing them every weekend. My impact driver loves them. My projects love them. My sanity loves them. And unlike the Harbor Freight bits, these don’t retire early. They show up to work, punch in, and stay on the job. If you want reliable, long‑lasting bits that don’t cost a fortune, the Makita Impact Gold #2 Phillips set is a fantastic buy. They’re inexpensive, tough, and miles better than the Harbor Freight bits that give up halfway through a project.

This are so much better than standard bits. Grip screws and even after driving hundreds of 4 inch screws still sharp edges.

Look for the shorter bits if you can. These things never break. I work in construction and have a bit going on two years. There is a reason these are not in home Depot.

Apparently i had some cheap ones. My new dewalt impact driver kept breaking the ones i had. Still using the first one out of this box. Putting 3 inch screws in treated wood. Great quality, fit and grip.

I'm a handyman and love my Makita tools. But I have found these bits to be only adequate for general use. The initial fit is good, but the nose wears down very quickly when used with my Makita impact driver.

It is not what I would expect from Makita

I tried using them for steel framing and they were pretty useless, unless you enjoy dropping screws when framing at awkward angles I would not buy them.
