Wesco Single Boy-German Designed-Step Trash Can, Powder Coated Steel, 3.4 Gallon / 13 L, White, Black

This wastebasket is a can of contradictions. The body, top, and inside pail are all very sturdy and well made. But the pedal is plastic, and the lifting mechanism is a Rube Goldberg mess of links and levers, parts of which are flimsy and other parts of which are stainless steel.When I received mine, the pedal did not lift the lid. It turns out that the plastic base ring self-clips to the bottom of the steel body. The clips on mine had detached, so stepping on the pedal just mushily lifted the body and had no effect on the lid. Once I pressed the base ring onto the body hard enough that the clips clicked into place, pressure on the pedal could transfer through all the linkages and lift the lid. We’ll see how long it’ll hold, and how many re-clips can be done before these plastic parts give out.If Wesco spent a couple of dollars to improve the flimsy parts, or figured a way to simplify the linkage, this would be a top quality product.

Love this trash can, just the right size for me..... pedal action good. Wish it had been cheaper but it does feel like it might last forever which is really what I want more than anything: To never have to buy another trashcan ever again!

The item is beautiful and made of thick quality medal not a thin tin like a lot of products are. My frustration is that the pedal that opens the trash can doesn’t work AT ALL!! We keep connecting the bar that’s to be connected to the lid and it keeps falling out so we now have a pedal trash can that the pedal is pointless.

Pricey but very cute retro and sturdy.

Bought this in December 2019 because I loved the style and color. I thought that Wesco was a reliable company but as of yesterday May 27th the mechanism stopped working to open the top of the can . When you press on the lever to open it nothing happens. Also when it was delivered the logo on the front wasn’t properly attached. I did notify Amazon about this and they said I would receive a $10.00 credit which I never received. Having to pay $99.00 plus NY State tax for this receptacle is definitely not worth it. Mir gefällt der Mülleimer und er hatte die für mich richtigen Maße. Es ist zwar nur ein Gebrauchsgegenstand, aber auch da habe ich einen Anspruch an Design und Haptik.Der Eimer kippte bei der Betätigung des Fußpedals, was aber daran lag, dass er nicht richtig in den unteren Rahmen gesteckt war. Ein leichter Druck auf den oberen Rahmen und es rastete ein und seitdem kippt er nicht mehr. Da dies aus zahlreichen Rezession schon bekannt ist, scheint mir der Hersteller bei Thema Endkontrolle und Kundenservice, genauso auf dem Stand der Gründung vor 150 Jahren stehen geblieben zu sein, wie seine Innovationskraft. Ich verwende eine Mülltüte. Selbst mit Klebeband oder Gummi ist es mir bis jetzt nicht gelungen, eine passende Mülltüte über den Rand des Inneneimers zu legen, ohne dass sie bei geschlossenem Deckel aus dem Eimer quillt. Bei diesem Preis habe ich mir mehr erwartet.

Wir haben bereits seit einigen Monaten zwei Wesco Superboy Mülleimer im Einsatz und sind mit diesen sehr zufrieden. Jetzt hat sich in der Gemeinde etwas an den Müllabholstatuten geändert und einen kleineren Mülleimer wäre sinnvoll. Also noch einen Wesco Single Boy dazu bestellt. Der sieht genauso aus, wie die Superboy nur eben halb so hoch. Unserer kippte auch beim drauftreten nach dem auspacken, aber wie in einigen der Vorrezesionen beschrieben sitzt der Mülleimer bei Lieferung manchmal nicht korrekt in dem "Unterbau", also mal von oben auf den Deckel gedrückt, man merkt einen kleinen Ruck und danach ist alles OK, der Eimer kippt nicht mehr. Das die Eimer auf glattem Boden und mehrmaliger Betätigung des Fußhebels nach hinten rutscht ist leider so. Hier konnten wir jedoch mit Resten der Bodenfliesen Abhilfe schaffen indem wir die Fliesenstreifen einfach zwischen Eimer und Wand gelegt haben, jetzt rutscht nichts mehr. Bei den bereits länger im Gebrauch befindlichen Superboy ist inzwischen eine "Unschönheit" aufgefallen: Die zwei kleinen Schrauben, mit welchen die Deckel festgeschraubt sind, sind nicht Rostfrei. Daher rosten diese nach einer Weile und der Rost überträgt sich auch auf das Metall des Deckels. Hier werden wir mal im Baumarkt rostfreie Schrauben besorgen, ist ja nur Pfennigskram. Für das Rutschen und die Schrauben ziehen wir einen Stern ab.Die Eimer in weiß in der Küche mit weißen Türen sind eine Augenweide, der Wesco Brotkasten Grandy macht sich dazu auch gut und abgerundet wird das Ganze noch mit Geräten der kMix Serie von Kenwood (Passt farblich und vom Design her super zusammen, z.B. der kMix Wasserkocher, Toaster und die Espressomaschine).

Leider ging der Deckel nicht richtig auf, wenn man das Fußpedal benutzten wollte. Man hätte sich zusätzlich noch bücken und den Eimer mit einer Hand aufhalten sollen. Sehr unpraktisch, wenn man z.B. einen Teller mit Resten leerkratzen will. Wir haben den Mülleimer gleich wieder zurückgeschickt!
