Perfect!
I got this machine as my very heavy, way more expensive, BROTHER machine is in the cupboard and is too heavy for me to lift. I have been sewing face masks by hand but arthritis is getting the better of me. I was actually looking for a machine like my daughter has which literaÄŗy just does straight sewing, no reverse, zigzag etc, and this machine showed up in the search. As the price was exactly the same, and listing had it as lightweight I decided to take a chance. If it was too heavy or not up to the task, I would send it back. So when it arrived I wasn't expecting much more than a plastic machine that did stitches badly and was a nightmare to thread. What I got was a very lightweight (yes it is plastic but very robust) and small sewing machine that really does do12 stitches, also has a reverse option, foot pedal and is so easy to thread up, even my arthritic hands and shocking eyesight can cope!I would recommend this machine to ANYONE who wanted to machine sew - beginners to expert. I don't know how well it would cope with really heavy fabrics like 3 layers of heavy denim or very fine fabrics such as silk or chiffon etc, but then again my big sewing machine wasn't keen and would grumble. Use the right needles for the job and it will probably be fine, but I have only tested on 4 layers of medium weight cotton. Very happy with it though. And as a lot of machines now do not have a foot pedal, just a push button to stop and go, I was really pleased to find the foot pedal with this, which you don't have to use. If you prefer the stop and go button there is a slider on the machine to operate that, but as it is small, I found it a problem because of my arthritis, and I personally prefer the footpedal anyway, so I can have 2 hands on the fabric. So simple to set up and use the only problem being, what to sew next!

This is a little gem! š
I didnāt really know what to expect when ordering this, but it really is aāproperā sewing machine, just in smaller proportions (unlike some of the āminiā ones, which donāt actually look much like sewing machines?).Iām loving it! I have a āseriousā sewing machine in a cabinet that I use for big jobs (like a full garment, curtains, etc.) - I was looking for something small & basic for quick simple jobs. This completely fits the bill? Itās small enough to pop into a kitchen cupboard, & takes less than a minute to get out & set up on my kitchen table.I really only do straight stitch & zigzag in my sewing - these both work fine (& come in three sizes) - thereās also a buttonhole stitch. Tension adjustment is simple, & bobbin & needle threading are just like any other machine really, & thereās a reverse stitch button - all the useful options that you need (& you can also attach different feet, like any full-size machine). The only things Iām not that keen on (& these are VERY minor) are the automatic stitching (which I actually hate on any machine - I always tape the button down to disable it), & the fact that the speed is a tiny bit slower than what Iām used to? (But these are nothing really?)Iāve been reading other reviews & some of the questions - I hate to say it, guys, but a lot of what youāre complaining about is down to user error & general lack of experience, sorry! š¤·š½āāļø (You donāt send back a machine because the bobbinās knotting the cotton - you take all the cotton out & start again on a scrap piece, making sure youāve threaded it all up properly? ALL machines knot cotton during their lives - it just happens! š)I started off with making a few cotton face masks, but since then Iāve run up a couple of pairs of shorts & a nightie (both of which Iād have normally done on my other machine), & they were fine! (I can see myself blowing dust off my other machine at this rate, lol. š)People are asking about this machine for a beginner or child - I would say fine (just beware of the automatic stitching, which can be quite alarming - start off by taping it down like I do!). Iāve been sewing for 50+ years & Iāve used umpteen different machines - & this is one of my favourites! (But donāt forget that you have to LEARN to sew - the machine is only a tool, it canāt think for you - or be blamed when you use it incorrectly? As long as you know what youāre doing, this should be a really good starter machine. šš¼)

Very disappointed
I dont often write reviews but since this was a gift that has never worked - Iām finally writing it. We bought this for my daughter 2 years ago. It worked a few times and then the thread kept getting stuck. We wanted to return it but the return period had passed. So itās been standing in the craft room ever since. She took it out today to try again - rethreaded it - made sure everything was where it was meant to be and still nothing - the needle does not even move.We unfortunately would not recommend this product at all. Wish we had contacted the sellers immediately to return it. Definitely on us for not trying to return it within the return period. Such a pity as it was such a waste, and she was so disappointed- and still is!

Great for simple, basic, cotton, non-stretch projects.
Sturdy, small, lightweight. Great for simple projects that don't need complicated turns or triple layers. Watch out for having to squeeze folded corners under the foot and needle, it doesn't like the work. It doesn't like stretch fabrics at all, not even a one way stretch jersey. Great for running cotton quilt squares or simple clothes. Use the hand wheel if it starts getting tough but hand sew corners if they get too thick. Tension is a thing to watch, the feeding foot (bottom bit) doesn't like to work too hard so you do have to make sure you ease the fabric through. Great for simple cotton projects.

Really easy to use and great for the price!
The machine is super lightweight and really easy to use. It comes with step by step instructions on how to thread and use the machine, which as a novice I really appreciated! So far I have used it to take in a few pairs of trousers and hem a couple of skirts and I have had no issues using it. Itās perfect for beginners! And really good value for money.

Small light weight easy to use sews really well but not very robust
Good for light work sews really well, having a variety of stitches is very handy. Easy to use and thread but not very robust the foot pedal seems very flimsy and is small, just as well it has an automatic alternative so you don't need use the foot pedal. If you are a regular dress maker, I would recommend going for a more robust machine, having said that it does everything you want it to do for light work.
