Honey Badger Don't Care
I'm amazed at the quality of this knife; I wish I could stop losing them. I'm just happy they are as economically priced as they are. The size is perfect for carrying, and the design is well thought out. The knife is easy to open and functions well because of the quality steel used to manufacture it. Honey Badger Don't Care while it tackles the tough stuff. I recommend this knife to everyone; I've bought it five times. Try their other knives; also great!

The best, most ergonomic, pocket work knife I've ever owned.
OK, I admit that the "Honey Badger Just Don't Care" Youtube video may have twigged me to this knife above the others offered on Amazon. However, after studying up on Knife steels, folding knife actions, handle materials and form factors (yeah, I actually am an Engineer) I decided that the Small Honey Badger was the best Pocket Knife I could buy for the money. (Value=features/$$). Other reviewers wrote that this knife rivaled the $100 ++ Benchmade knives they "had" been carrying. Have to take their words for it, I never spent that much on a knife, cause I'm hard on my knives and tend to ultimately lose my Pocket Knives. After a week of use I do know that this Honey Badger knife puts all my Swiss Army, Buck and Gerber pocket knives totally in the shade. -The multi-mode action is smooth as silk; -The blade is very sharp (so I'm less likely to cut myself) and likely to stay that way due to the modern alloy steel it's fashioned from. Supposed to be easily sharpened too. -It looks nice (mine is grey) and doesn't scream "SCARY TACTICAL ASSAULT KNIFE!!!!" Like so many higher end knives do. -It fits my hand perfectly with a 4 fingered grip, on a rounded, non-slip grip surface. -The pocket clip makes it dissappear in my pocket, and doesn't dig into my hand when I use the knife. -The short, rugged blade is easy to control for precise cuts. **This makes it a good general purpose work knife, the only kind of knife that I give pocket room to. This is The best, most ergonomic, pocket work knife I've ever owned.

Honey badger don't give a $#!+
Perfect EDC. I have a number of knives and pocket tools that I use and take to work with me daily. I have been rotating between a number of knives each with a feature that I love. To give an idea, my most carried had been a benchmade mini griptilian with a deep carry clip. One day I thought I lost the small flashlight I carry and was genuinely upset. I quickly realized that if the $60 flashlight could ruin my day, what would a $110 knife do? The hunt began. This is the best sub $30 knife ever. I have the small so it is under 3". It may be 8cr13mov steel (cheaper), but I'm not afraid to use it and I sharpen all of knives regularly anyway. The bearing system feels great (comparable to the feel of a zero tolarance but obviously do not expect the balanced feel for the price difference). The liner lock was perfect right out of the box. It has a deep carry right tip up only clip (good for me; sorry lefties). The forward finger choil really let's you choke up. The flipper is smooth (more of a light switch action) and the finger hole works excellent for the thumb. With a little practice, the spydie flick is possible but it takes some finger preloading. There is also an overtravel stop behind the blade to take a lot of the load when it is flipped open and closed. All in all, excellent quality for the price between build and usability (for righties). If they made higher end steels, I would absolutely buy one for home and keep one of these for work. Best $30 usable knife I have handled. Honey badger don't give a $#!+.

Excellent for the $
I have put off buying the HB Small for quite a long time, but recently decided to see what the hype was all about. I love knives and figured if it didn't turn out well I would just give it away as a gift or put it in the drawer. Needless to say, I carry it on me everyday. The size of the small version is a nearly perfect fit for deep pocket carry. I prefer to remove the clip and have the knife float in my pocket, but decided to leave the clip on for a could of weeks to see how I liked it. I still have the clip on it today. This knife clip allows the knife to sit deep in the pocket without showing the knife only the clip. Due to the size, it does not interfere with my hand going into my pocket. It is nice to see the metal frame of the knife is recessed in the handle where others are normally exposed with the handle material on top. This makes for a thinner profile which feels nice in the hand. The honeycomb pattern provide an nice secure grip on the knife and is aesthetically appealing. Opening the knife was met with a very smooth action either with the thumb hole or pressing on the blade protrusion due to the caged bearings. I would have liked to seen ceramic bearings, but still worth it for the price. The action is smooth but still not on par with the Kizer knives using ceramic bearings. The blade has a near skandi grind with only a small secondary bevel. Due to the profile, the blade is a little thick on the spine, but that is needed with a flat, near skandi, grind. inspecting the secondary bevel under the microscope shows a near even grind on both sides. I have purchased 3 of these now and all have a steeper angle grind on the left side of the blades. This just tells me the person grinding the bevel is right handed. There is not much difference and would probably go unnoticed by most. Also, these knives are extremely sharp. while not shaving sharp, they are very close. I found a couple of passes on a leather grinding belt brought the edge up to full razor sharpness. I am not a total fan of the blade side profile. I personally feel the belly of the drop point is a little too round and would prefer it to be a little less to fit my optimal shape. If you use this to clean your fingernails, you will find the belly a little too round or pronounced, but still functional. If I could make a couple of improvements to meet my ideal knife goal, I would lessen the belly of the drop point, and add ceramic bearings. Otherwise this is an excellent knife and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great knife at an even greater price.

Huge Value
I picked up the small Honey Badger and could not be more pleased with my purchase. Due to local laws, I must carry a knife with a blade length of 3" or less. At 2.81" the small version is perfect for me. I am a huge fan of forward finger choils since they give you more control while doing intricate cuts and they usually provide better ergonomics. I was worried that the small version would have a choil that was too small, but that is not the case. I wear XXL gloves and the choil is large enough to accommodate. My fingers are somewhat slender so I can't speak for those with thick fingers. The ergonomics of this knife are absolutely excellent. I wouldn't change a thing in this department. Ergonomics are very important to me and the Honey Badger is comparable to Spydercos, which is a great compliment since Spyderco knives are well known for their ergonomics. I was somewhat hesitant because the blade steel isn't considered high end, but the quality, features, and ergonomics really make up for it. I'm actually pleased with the steel since it's more than adequate for almost every task. It's easy to sharpen and it keeps the price low which makes you more willing actually use it(some people don't use their expensive knives as they are afraid of damaging them). It even comes with a deep carry clip so you don't have to bother looking for an aftermarket clip(which adds cost to your investment). If you're reading this trying decide if you should pull the trigger, I say go for it. If you choose the right size for your situation, you will not regret picking one up. I have included a photo for size comparison: Top = Spyderco Native 5 Lightweight (3" blade / 2.45 oz) Middle = Small Honey Badger (2.81" blade / 2.57 oz) Bottom = Spyderco Dragonfly 2 (2.25" blade / 1.20 oz)

A great EDC knife with an awesome clip
One way to think about this knife is according to the most frequently operations used for a pocket knife: 1) pull the knife out of your pocket 2) deploy blade 3) use it 4) fold blade 5) put it back in your pocket This makes a lot of sense if you use a knife a lot for mundane EDC tasks like cutting boxes or scraping stuff. You need to grab your knife, open it, use it, and put it back all with one hand. This knife makes all of that really easy. This knife is awesome in maximizing the ease and reliability of each of these steps because of two features: First, because the knife deploys using ball bearings, you get a really smooth and easy open. Using the flipper to open is fairly easy but takes a bit of pressure (nothing crazy), or you can flick it open using the hole. In either case, the blade deploys quickly and smoothly. Second, this has probably the best clip I've seen. The clip is deep carry, but the screws are counter-sunk into the handle so that they don't catch on your pocket when you put it in. The clip is also really beefy, so there is a nice big area to catch the pocket edge. It's also got just the right amount of tension. This makes drawing and replacing the knife with one hand super easy to do. It seems a little silly to hype up these features, but for me it makes the knife really wonderful to use. I will say that the blade is not "razor sharp," but it seems to sharpen just fine, and I'm not using this thing for surgery or anything. I just need to peel an orange every now and then.

Treat yourself and buy one ASAP!
Sweet knife!! Action is super smooth and good grip all around. This knife opens faster than most assisted openers I have when using the side flipper and also has a nice sized thumb opener. Deep carry reversable pocket clip is great, easy to switch and comes with a torx tool to accomplish that. Great looking blade with nice finish and very sharp. I bought the green small version and will be perfect for my EDC. Comes in a nice presentation box with literature and torx tool so that is a nice touch. Now I have a small torx tool that works on my other knives!! I have many name brand knives and this knife is in the same class. Normally do not do reviews but so impressed with this gem that I had to. If you don't have one, you need one ASAP. You will not be disappointed. Thanks Honey Badger for a wonderful product!!

Sharp lil bugger!
This small knife is a workhorse! I use it everyday to open the hundreds of plastic bags and wraps for my company and it just goes and goes! I've not had to resharpen it at all, and just used a denim strop I made from an old pairs of jeans. This 8CR13MOV blade is so easy to bring back to razor sharp with just a few passes on the strop. It's a small powerhouse with a strong lock, that keeps your fingers safe, which is easy to open and feels great in your hand. Buy this knife!
