Sometimes it is not the ever more sophisticated technology, the increasing level of precision or the addition of ever more new functions that causes the heart to beat just that little bit faster out of a true pleasure for watches. MeisterSinger has proved that a step, or at least a look back at the origins of time measurement can cause a wide range of emotions with their single-hand watches, which have already been successful for twelve years. The philosophy of the single-hand watch, the delightful instant of chronometry and the appreciation of the moment are attributes that are inherent to every MeisterSinger watch. The MeisterSinger Paleograph unifies all of these elements and can bring an additional component with it. The Column Wheel Chronograph that, due to its exclusivity, the complexity of the construction methods required, its high level of precision and not least because of the beautiful tactile feedback it gives, is now experiencing a real renaissance. As with the first chronographs, control of the start, stop and set to zero functions is performed with just one button, a button that was, at the time, most frequently integrated into the crown. The chronograph only received the second button for setting to zero between the two world wars. The first 100 years of the intricacies of the chronograph are the starting point for our designs. It is only due to a stroke of luck that we are able to refer back to the technical know-how of the experienced watchmakers of the day that helps us to produce the clockwork today exactly as it was done 100 years ago. All components have been made by hand and adapted to one another. The clockwork captivates with its simplicity and its pristine and primordial hand-crafted charisma. No watch enthusiast would be able to resist its unique character. The Paleograph from MeisterSinger is equipped with the MSYN13 manual winding system, a unit that has been developed in house in collaboration with Swiss manufacturing. The complex unit is based on the Unitas pocket watch clockwork and has been adapted from the ground upwards. Technology: The chronograph is equipped with a column wheel. Using this, the individual levers are controlled by the raising of the columns and when they fall into the gaps. Press once = the column wheel performs a rotation of 20°. The column wheel has, situated at the bottom, an interlocking gear grid with six vertical columns which controls the functions of the various levers. The chronograph also possesses a baladeur. The minute hand intermediary gear also belongs to this group of components and is mounted on a lever and can rotate freely.
