Guardforce Outback 52C Breakdown Shotgun Case

I own lots of long guns and many cases and carriers including soft and hard shell. I really like another Vangard made Winchester aluminum break down case I use for a short scoped Beretta CXStorm 9mm and Beretta 92F. The breakdown shotgun case is perfect for carrying short semi auto pistol caliber rifles and a matching hand gun with mags in a ready to go lockable case for car or truck or just taking to the range. I was looking to add another Winchester type case for my 29 inch KelTec RFB .308. I had not seen this new shell material but know the quality of the Vangard cases so took a chance. I am extremely impressed with the material and design. It fits the scoped rifle, mags and a .45 hand gun with good padding and security. I added two small combination pad locks to the outer latches for quick convenience. Of all my SHTF grab and go cases this is the best quality and handiest to store and use. The light weight and lockable hard shell with padding makes more sense for expensive short personal defense weapons than the soft cases with zippers. This may be the best material to make all future gun cases from and they make it in long rifle and hand gun sizes as well but the 30 inch made for take down shotguns fits many of the modern short assault rifles.

I purchased this case to pack my rifle in for few flights. The case is very durable and my items were completely protected and safe from rough handling.The lock design is lacking though. When locked at the center only, if you undo the side latches the case pops open enough to easily defeat the main lock. This is remedied by using two small locks on the latches. The case was still functional with the side latches locked.

too large and heavy for airline travel

I bought this to house a patrol rifle that gets taken in and out of trunks on a daily basis. This was one of only a very few cases that I could find that would fit a 30" rifle perfectly. Well the rifle fits in with an 1/8" to spare which is fine by me. My rifle is a little thick due to a light hanging off one side so when I buckle the case closed you can see the case is flexed slightly and the corners are not completely sealed. Two more buckles would have solved the problem and is why I give it 4 stars. Otherwise it looks to be well made. Its not weather proof but looks like it will offer all of the impact protection and weather resistance that one could ask for.

Great for a 16" Tavor SAR, can even fit in with a EOtech and magnifier. Even the straps inside are usable with this config.

I wish it was stiffer; it flexes when it is closed. I will probably remove the foam at some point and fiberglass the inside to make it stiffer.

I was very impressed with the case's outer material as soon as I opened the package. The nylon woven material looks so nice I wanted to by another one immediately.The lips are aluminum and made to seal tight. Doesn't have rubber but I don't think it was meant to be put under heavy rain. This is just like a normal luggage for normal transportation. Not a Pelican tough box.The rubber feet at the bottom are a nice touch. Lets it stand on the side for easy pick up and carry.The dimensions are compact and doesn't waste interior space. It fits inside a 2006-2014 Mazda Miata MX-5 trunk easily.The foam inside are decent. Not Pick n' Pluck foam but it has multiple Velcro straps to hold down a short rifle and magazines.I'd give it 5 stars if it wasn't for Plano 108361 Gun Guard AW Tactical Case 36" (40" outside) which has better locks, clamps, tougher seal and case, Pick n' Pluck foam for LESS $$.Still a quality case if you really must have a compact rifle case. I bought from Adorama for much less what others sell shipped.

Very nice case for my Tavor. No reason not to recommend it.
