How hot does a HotSnapZ heat pack get? The chemistry inside HotSnapZ is a safe and self-regulating reaction. The maximum internal temperature reaches 128-130F and typically 115-120F at the surface during normal use. The temperatures that HotSnapZ operate at are considered to be non-burning when used as directed. What is inside a HotSnapZ pack and how does it work? HotSnapZ reusable hand warmers and heating pads contain water, a small metal disc and sodium acetate, a safe food grade salt ingredient. The clicking of a disk within the pad triggers the precipitation of the sodium acetate crystals. When the crystals precipitate, it releases the energy that was required to initially dissolve it and stored in the pouch. The release of energy raises the temperature to a maximum temperature of 130F (54C). The process is theoretically repeatable indefinitely. HotSnapZ are a sodium acetate hand warmer. Great item
Works great, not only does this heat your back to soothe aching muscles, but when it is swolen from the hardened crytals, the pack provides a support, to cushion the back, like wearing a pillow on your back. Excellent product. It fixed my back! Punch the middle of the silver coin in the pack, and then pop it back out a few times, to get the crytals started, sort of like punching the lid on the top of a jar to relieve some presure so that you can open it!

loved this item shipped on time and in great condition. the only thing that I don't like is the price of the replacement heating pads and that you have to put them in boiling water to reheat. I would say this is a good product but if you are in a hurry to relieve your back pain I would not sagest this.

Excellent product! I have a dozen Hot SnapZ packs ...
Excellent product! I have a dozen Hot SnapZ packs and just replaced my back belt after 3 years of continuous wear...it just plain wore out from overuse. I use the back belt most of the day and change out the hot pack when needed....even during the summer. The AC in public buildings can be chilly and my back just can't tolerate it.

Its a good size and gets nice and hot. It's cool to watch as its activated I would buy again.

Great for one time use...reseting this was impossible
I was only able to use this product once. After the first use, I tried unsuccessfully to reset the heating pack in the microwave per the directions that came with the product. So I tried to reset it on the stove top in a big pot with a vegetable steamer rack so that the pack did not touch the bottom. Unfortunately there was a leak in the pack so when the solid became a liquid again it leaked out.

This product works great under my ski racing suit when the wind chill is around 0 or colder.

Takes the edge off the chill when diving in cold water.
Also good on a sore back. You don't have to sit on an electric hot pad. You can move around. Easy to reactivate.
