Reason it’s cheap
Tested it on a 2005 DT 466 with a no start issue. It could detect that IDM was inop and the 2 injectors were not firing. Haven’t tested it on smaller vehicles but for heavy trucks don’t waste your time

Does not do what description says.
I have had this product for about 2 or 3 years now. I have not seen any updates as of yet. It is very helpful with vehicles that use OBD2, but not J1939. The J plug reads that a vehicle is on the other end but will not read or display any information. I worked heavily on Caterpillar equipment for the first 2 years I had this reader. It never connected to any of the pieces of equipment ranging from Loaders, excavators, haul trucks, dozers, skids, compactors, all ranging in in years from late 80s to 2017. It also did not connect to hitachi or John Deere equipment. I switch jobs a year ago and brought this scanner with me to work on school buses. Our fleet has mostly modern buses ranging from 14 years old to brand new 2019. This reader does not connect to any of them either. The older buses run Cummins 5.9L and all of the newer buses run 6.7L Cummins. The fleet consists of Bluebird, and Thomas mostly on Freight liner chassis. Beware of the OBD2 as well. We have a couple Chevy buses as well and this reader does connect but will not display full codes. It will give the PCode but not the description. It also cannot connect with the TCM on Chevy as we get periodic check engine lights that are from the transmission. I have had the same issue with this code reader when using it on Fords as well. I cannot rate this as just a 1 star as it has saved me from long trableshooting on my Toyota, and also saved me with live data while stranded in central Alaska with a faulty exhaust temperature sensor on a ford. It didn’t give me a code but I did give me the information I needed. If you are working on Chevy or Cummins do yourself a favor and get Tech 2 for older chevys and get Insite for Cummins.
