These break way to easy, within a day of use. Two of them had cracks in them when I finally received them. They may look cool but it’s a waste of money in my opinion.

the length is longer than most, almost 6", this puts some distance between your hand holding and hand with your torch. there is less of a chance of an accidental movement or flame angle burning your hand. The glass is thinner than regular plain 4'' burner but this is a good thing, the oil burns smoother as long as you adjust the flame so the bowl gets heat but not direct flame on the bowl. the thinner glass allows the oil to heat faster and more evenly, roll or turn for even heating, this lessens burning the oil. no direct flame on bowl, but heat from flame,, turn off fans or out of breezy window, they dissipate the heat. the extra glass swirl wrap around on the stem , in asst colors, helps stabilize the burner. it is an attractive feature and chances are it was done by hand. and it makes it an individual art piece. i also use a small binder clip or small clothes pin on the stem, it makes holding it easier and your burner wont roll when u set it down.. less likely to roll off table. if your a little shaky with the burner, or have a tendency to drop things, or the oil is over relaxing you, you may drop the burner. if you are on tile or cement... no option but smash. don,t put the burner down on plastic or synthetic fiber as the heat from a hot burner will singe it. have a small tray with a moist paper towel to place the burner as it cools, keep in mind its finer glass, not stainless steel.. a careless moment can cause breakage or crack.
