wears your thumb out, but so much better.....
this thing wears your thumb out if you aren't used to thumb throttles (i am not) but it works perfectly as a cheap and smooth replacement for the ultra cheap throttles that come with bicycle motor kits. when i got my kit and got it set up the cheap plastic twist throttle that came with it would hang and when twisting it you could feel it catcing internally. while i could have probably fixed it with a file and time, i instantly had no interest in that cheap plastic crap. another cool thing about this type of throttle is that if the handle grips that come with the bike you put a motor on are nice, you can keep the handle grips that came with the bike. i am still planning to get a decent twist throttle at some point because i prefer them, but i cannot subtract points for my own thumb fatigue, people use thumb throttles with the same or more resistance than this on 4 wheel atvs for hours at a time. my thumb just isn't used to it. to use it with a bicycle motor kit i had to extend on both sides and the core of the cable is still a hair long, but not enough to be an issue, if it is an issue in your case you can get new cable ends and chop it down a few mm.

works for Predator powered minibikes
I decided to change my Coleman CT200U-EX minibike's throttle from the stock plastic, and actually unsafe twist throttle assembly, to this thumb throttle. So far the quality appears wonderful, with only one or two odd casting flashing inside the housing.I had to subtract a star for the cable catch being bent funny, and needing adjustment before the cable would fit, however that was the only hitch in installation. It comes with a cable, meant to fit the housing, and rubber sealed around the hole. The cable is a great length to zip tie it along the top tube of the frame, and loop down to the original throttle hookup. For a minibike's use with a stock appearing carburetor, I had only to melt the Mikuni style zinc ball off of the carburetor end of the cable core.To get full throttle with a Governer Tweaked Predator, I had to clearance the stops inside the assembly housing to allow a longer throw to pull the cable. Kinda want to set up a thumb throttle on my kart's wheel now!

Great thumb throttle at a decent price - used it on a Coleman ct200-u trail bike
Excellent product so far! Installed it in place of OEM throttle on a Coleman CT200-u trail bike. Minor modification needed to open bar gap to correct spacing and also minor mod required (used a grinder) for the new throttle cable ball end. I don’t put this on the manufacture as this was my decision to use a unique throttle cable.

Cheap Pot Metal
Cracked when I tightened it on my bar, cheap Pot Metal. It still held though and works.

It's metal, and works like a charm
Loved the product. It made out of mostly metal except the top cap I believe. Pretty heavy and functioned great. On a side note I got it for a mini bike because I like thumb throttles, you will have to get a simple throttle plate to bypass the governor arm. It's length of pull is about half of a twist throttle. Otherwise super happy!
