Q: Can i use this to just ferment my kefir in all the time both water and milk? or do i need to have a first ferment bottle? thanks

I think you can, if you loosen the lid to allow airflow. However, I recommend the first ferment bottle as it is designed to allow airflow and keep out insects. Equally, the lid is also designed to filter the milk from kefir grains when pouring. Very good system.

Q: What is included with this product? Does it have scraper etc?

This is a bottle with a lid. If you want the strainer and other parts you need to buy the kefir making set. This is for second fermentation after you have removed the kefir grains.

Q: I am confused about the lid. What is special about this? I was hoping for a self burping one this just seems like a regular lid? Am i missing somethin

All plastic lids are kind of self burping. Tbh nothing really special about this but it’s a tighter lid than first ferment one so that the kefir water gets fizzy. I like the look of having both jars the same so if you go with this Make you want this jar to have the tighter lid.

You will need an airtight seal to retain the fizz. Alternatively, start the second fermentation in the jar and bottle it before it finishes.
