Fire Officer's Handbook of Tactics, Study Guide 4th Edition

Good book be nice if the lasted version was available

This book is chock full of interesting anecdotes and techniques. Some are very unique scenarios to New York and will not help you at all in small town, USA. It is still very interesting to see how other places do things. I think it's best read outside of promotion as just a student of the fire service.

Great Read. Lots of Scenarios I could relate to. I've read it multiple times, after the first few times you can skip all the OTJ experience stories and get to the point. 2nd edition I've bought. Study guide is a great compliment, especially for promotional exams.

This book is a good study guide for what areas I need to review. However, the questions are very written. Another typical fire assessment trying to trip up test takers instead of evaluate actual knowledge.

Great overview of tactics. Covers a broad variety of situations and building types.

The study guide seems to be from a previous edition as some of the wording in the questions is similar but not exacty what is in the 4th efition. The page references are not always correct either. The questions are thought provoking and cause you to want to look up the correct answers but the way some of the answers are written I doubt that it was career firefighter wiring them.

This booked has helped greatly in preparing for a promotiional test. I would recoomend this book to others who are preparing for a test.
