Bulge’s Best Work!
Longtime fan of Landau’s fascinating work, whether it’s solo, Raging Honkies, Burning water or backing countless others on records such as John Hiatt or James Taylor. ‘Rock Bottom’ finds Michael in familiar settings in what he absolutely does best. Never one to just throw random notes to the sky, Landau carefully places rhythms and notes where they belong, nothing excessive, period. The songs are wonderful and the recording and sound are his absolute best-yet.

Cool songs with tasty guitar parts but virtually no guitar solos.
Michael Landau is an unsung monster guitarist. If you’re reading this you probably already know that. He’s also a singer/songwriter with a cool, mellow voice. I’ll give this more of a chance based on his unique songwriting skills but upon a couple listens it seems that he forgot to play guitar on a lot of these tunes. If the guitar solo madness is what you’re looking for ..get his live album...

La prima cosa che salta all'orecchio è la qualità di registrazione, la tridimensionalità delle composizioni. Il linguaggio al solito è geniale: l'esperienza con i più grandi si sente ma la sua mano è inconfondibile, precisa. I suoni sono incredibili. Al primo ascolto si percepisce poco ma ascoltandolo piùù di una volta escono fuori tante sfumature.

Suonato oggettivamente bene e con gusto ma Album non in linea con i precedenti capolavori. Il tema musicale delle varie canzoni non appare definito nel gusto quanto le precedenti creazioni musicali. Sicuramente un fuoriclasse ma meno incisivo delle altre opere.
