This is a much better safe than one I previously tried out on a trial basis. That being said, it's not exponentially better than similarly priced inexpensive brands that failed to meet the grade. It has pretty decent storage capacity for a relatively small safe. I'll give it points on that one. The shelves and padding are a nice touch too. I can't really praise it much on sturdiness and overall ruggedness. It's just not in that category of safe. This isn't something you use to keep your most valuable items in. Better a space to keep things you don't want to lose in but aren't trying to 'secure' in the classic sense. The interface is okay. It wasn't difficult to setup. One thing that bothers me about this safe is that if you mount it on it's back, like in a floor for example, it will 'not' open after you enter the code. There is a flaw in then design that won't let you open the latch after the code is entered. This is only remedied by

Perfect little lockbox for my hidden cabinet project! I am working on cutting into a wall to add a small secret storage area for valuables, and this lockbox is the exact size I was looking for to fit in the space. Will fit passports, jewelry, random little valuables, etc. Its not big enough to hold a document unfolded, but it can hold small envelopes with documents in them. It is a sturdy, unassuming, textured little steel box that comes with hardware to bolt it to a sturdy frame (2x4’s in my case) from the inside. You can bolt it down from the bottom or the back. They also include a little liner for the bottom of the box. The keys are substantial for their size, so I am less worried about loosing them. When I decide to move, I plan on clearing it out and leaving it with the keys in there for someone discover. If they do, they will open the safe and find a small rubber chicken. Yep.
