Another delightful "This is...!" book
We have an entire library of these kids' travelogue books and my (4 year old) son was delighted with our newest edition, This is Edinburgh! It has the hallmark Sesek art style, and the book was very informative, yet still engaging for my preschooler to listen to. He loved the parts about the castle, the guards, and the firing of canons to tell time the best.

another informative entry in the sasek series
sasek's books are all visually lovely, no doubt about it, however they are also incredibly informative, which i quite appreciate. this book is littered with amazing images and interesting facts. i would definitely say this entry has some of the more poorly printed images, as they appear fairly washed out in comparison to the rich colors on the cover. this does lend it a lovely throwback feel, though, so little complaint from me there.and as with all the updated printings of sasek's books, there is a welcome list of "this is the city...today!" at the end of the book with changes listed since the original printing. it is great to see both the way the city WAS as well as the present day differences.i highly recommend this book if you are interested in either edinburgh, or simply in wonderful illustration.

This book is great. I only gave it 4 stars because it was not as informative as I had hoped. It was like a basic tour of Edinburgh but it did not really explain some of the things seen. I would have liked it to have given more facts about each things we were seeing. The section about tartans did a better job of this. I would like to see a new version of this book with added information about each building.

Great Book to help young ones understand Edinburgh
I purchased this for my 6 year old niece to educate her about Edinburgh because we were going there on vacation. It was very informative - even her grandmother enjoyed it. It helped both of the appreciate their trip to Scotland.

An adorable view of Edinburgh
I actually live in Edinburgh and bought this book for my nephew for Christmas. He loved all the colorful pictures and I loved all the cute things it covered about the city. It does a great job of including all the big sights in (Arthur's seat, Holyrood Palace, Castle) and even some of the lesser known spots as well. It's like a little trip down memory lane every time I read it with him.

Great content, poor print quality
Great book, but this had poor color quality, so I wondered if it was a legitimate print or a pirated copy. Every page looked faded. Maybe that's just the way it was done. At any rate, it was a good book to give my grandchildren before a visit to Edinburgh.

A Memory
I took my grand daughter to Edinburg, Scotland this past summer and we had a blast and made a memory. I thought I would get her this book to help her keep that memory, Nice book came in great condition.

Excellent produit!

Segue abaixo a lista de livros da coleção:This Is ParisThis Is LondonThis Is RomeThis Is New York CityThis Is EdinburghThis Is MunichThis Is VeniceThis Is San FranciscoThis Is IsraelThis Is The Way To The MoonThis Is IrelandThis Is Hong KongThis Is GreeceThis Is TexasThis Is the United NationsThis Is Washington, D.C.This Is AustraliaThis is Britain*This Is The World (um livro de maior volume, com um apanhado de toda a série, exceto "This Is The Way To The Moon" e "This Is the United Nations").Da coleção, apenas três dos livros foram traduzidos para o português:Isto é ParisIsto é RomaIsto é Nova YorkObs: Para quem gosta de ilustrações da década de 60/70 (com poucos traços) e de livros que tratam de lugares diferentes para se conhecer, o artista teve um olhar interessantíssimo dos lugares que retratou. E apesar de terem sido realizados no final da década de 50 até meados de 70, foram reeditados e qdo algo está datado ou não existe mais por exemplo, isto é mencionado. Ainda vale muitíssimo serem apreciados.

Quite an Interesting Children's Book but lacked the vigour of Edinburgh!
I wanted this book for my Granddaughter so that she could experience some of the city in which I grew up.It did not include many of the sights to be found in Edinburgh that would intrigue a youngster.Sadly a bit disappointing.

These books are wonderful! We purchase them before we go visit a new place with our kids (3, 5, and 8) and it really helps them look forward to what we are going to see during our trip. Some things are a bit out-of-date, but in the back they have little updates for the current state of things. The illustrations are great as well and the kids really like them. The amount of detail in the books relating to certain sites you might see or things the kids would appreciate is awesome. Definitely recommend these books if you are planning a family visit or if your kids would just like to learn about far away places.

Simply adorable
Bought 2 of these for presents for children. It is a real trip down memory lane including some of the absent landmarks in Edinburgh. The graphics and words are a delight to see and read for an adult or child. What a treat the recipients have in store!
