I love this book. This is the second time I purchased this book. I recommended it to our Scripture Study Group because in my opinion it is the best organized,focused study Book that is supported by many comprehension tools integrated into the comments. We all agreed to use it. The book of John is my favorite book of the Gospels because it pushes me to study even harder. Instead of using a variety of books on Bible commentary, research and culture this book has already included this information in a format that is easy to read and comprehend. The book has done a great job with identifying and integrating dogma of the Church into the commentary. Using the introduction, this book presents the required method of reading the scripture that has been identified through the Church's Tradition, and published in the "Catechism of the Catholic Church". The book prepares us to better understand the presentation method of the related topical essays and commentary. The questions at the back of the book are separated by the Chapters of the Gospel of John. Understanding and Application are the categories of questions that can be used in the study of The Gospel of John. This book has many more tools to assist the reader in discernment and understanding of The Gospel of John.

This is an excellent Catholic Study Bible - concise, clear - designed to make the reader's study as effective and rewarding as possible. I highly recommend. I like the way it is laid out. Basic notes (commentary) at the bottom of every page help the user to read the Scriptures with understanding. Filled with cross-references (other scripture passages and paragraphs from the Catechism of the Catholic Church) and Topical Essays, Word Studies, Charts, and Maps are intermingled throughout the study for deeper understanding of select details. If you're not sure who Jesus is, read the Gospel of St John to discover He is the Son of God, your Saviour. I like the full size (8 1/2 x 11) size with larger print than the smaller size.

I love studying each of the books in this series.

Very comrehensive and easy to find references and informative interpretations by touching the blue highlighted words and phrases on the screen. The Word of God is brought to life and illuminated for all to understand. Can't wait until the whole Ignatious Study Bible is coverted to this format.

First of all it is the Gospel of St. John, so rich and beautiful. Scott Hahn does a great job with this series. I am loving them and will probably end up purchasing all of them as I work my way through the Bible. The notes and other extras are very informative.

It is important for anyone who wants to understand art or literature (or history) to have a knowledge of the gospels because of their impact on the world. I believed that when I was an atheist. Now I find the background information in this well-researched volume is invaluable for anyone undertaking bible study. It is also possible to sign up for a weekly email which discusses that Sunday's gospel readings. There is no tradition of getting up in the middle of mass and asking questions but the questions are still there and Scott Hahn is very good at answering them.

It was not clear to me that this book was a reprint taken from the “Ignatius Catholic Study Bible New Testament, which I recently purchased from Amazon. I thought it was an additional work.
