worked for what I needed
This is going to sound really strange, but I don't have a guitar. My 94 year-old dad has new hearing aids and he is having trouble opening them to change the battery. I bought these to give him some leverage in flipping open the cover (kind of hard to describe). There is a small corner in the cover and he couldn't get his finger in it to flip the cover open. He put the thinnest pick in the corner of the cover and voila! it opened.

your variety may vary, just a bit
Great sampler pack. What you see is what you get, almost… Pay attention to the part of the description that says you get a "variety" of the celluloid picks. The exact size as you get of those seem to vary. in my case, I got two lights, three mediums, and one heavy. But I'm perfectly happy since I have absolutely no idea which of any of these is the one I will actually wind up liking best, which is the whole point. I get to try them all.

First time picks buyer, completely surprised!!
I always wanted to develop skills for guitar, so recently bought Rogue Dreadnought. To my surprise it didn't came with Guitar pick.Upon searching guitar picks on amazon, I stumbled upon ChromaCast Picks. Looking at positive reviews from others, I bought it.Amazon delivered it on time, kudos to amazon.Opening the picks, taking them in hand and strumming few cords, I just love the way the picks felt in hand and the sound it produced. For the price, these 12 picks in different colors and patterns is a steal.I would recommend these picks to anybody any day.

exactly what I needed
I am just learning to play guitar and was looking for a variety of picks in different thicknesses to determine what would work best for me. This is an excellent deal. I received 6 solid colored picks in the following thickness: 1.14mm, 1.00mm, .88mm, .73mm, .60mm & .50mm. I also received 6 marbled picks: 3 light, 1 medium, 2 heavy thickness.Very happy with this purchase.

I picked up learning acoustic guitar so I decided to ...
I picked up learning acoustic guitar so I decided to purchase these in order to experiment with how different picks create different sounds when strumming the guitar. I've been using them for over a month now and they still hold up well. The reason why I did not give it 5* is because when they arrived they were all stuck together with an adhesive, and when removing the picks from one another the adhesive stayed on the picks until rubbed off. I still consider myself a beginner guitar player so they still fit me well.

Very disappointing.
I bought a guitar around 5 weeks ago and have been trying out picks to see what suits me.The guitar center employee said he used Dunlop Tortex so I tried the .50mm (which is a great fiddle toy and good on Rocksmith to learn to go between strings) the .88 mm (which I use quite a bit), and the 1.14 mm (which I use some). The Dunlop Tortex picks have an excellent reputation for a reason just solid. My local music shop in Ansonia, CT has a bunch of picks that you can try out at 25 cents for the low end picks at 50 cents for the high end picks. There I have liked the Stadium 0.96 picks which have a nice grip and feel and I think the Martin picks are also very good.I also got some Dunlop Jazz III picks which you can really grip and have a nice weight and a smaller tip, those are my favorite so far.So on to the Chromacast picks. Like I said I am just learning to play so I am trying new things and these had a good review. They are honestly among the least favorite picks I have found. They just don't add much to the sound. I don't like the feel they are often too slippery and they just don't make my guitar sing. One potential advantage is it is a way to try many sizes for $4. But honestly once you upgrade to something else I think you will be happy to let your friends take them.I suppose they are still good fiddle toys but I like the flexibility of the Dunlop Tortex .5mm better for that.Pass, there are better picks out there. For the same price $3.99 and for much higher quality I would get 24 Dunlops in the light/medium and medium/heavy. That's an incredible deal for top end picks. http://www.amazon.com/Dunlop-12-Pick-Variety-Pack/dp/B0055VBYWC/ref=lh_ni_t?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

These are great picks for the price
These are great picks for the price. They're thick and durable feeling and do exactly what they're supposed to. Compared to the prices that music stores charge, these are a great value. I would definitely suggest these to a friend that is looking to purchase some quality guitar picks for a very low price.

Overall: good picks
This was a pretty good pack of picks; they came in a variety of types and sizes. I just wish that they were more organized about how they did it. In the product images it looked like I would get equal numbers of each type, which is definitely not the case. It also would be nice if they coded the sizes by color to make pick selection easier instead of having some of the different sizes that are the same color. Overall, they're good picks, and I would recommend them (especially for a beginner) because of their low price tag and they give flexibility to experiment with a variety of thicknesses and types of picks.

Just the job!
I needed some different picks to try and I don't like the feel of the Tortex kind so thought I would give these a go. I was very pleasantly surprised. Other than the thinnest two and thickest two of the Dura Picks, the others were just about right for me. My favourites though are the celluloid ones. Despite the description saying assorted gauges, the ones I received were all medium which was not a problem. The feel and tone are just what I was looking for so these are my go to picks right now! They look great too!

The pearly swirly ones look great and they all say "medium" on them
When I picked these up, I thought that I was going overboard with the large amount of picks. But as soon as they came in, I found myself switching in between each one, and loving them all!The solid coloured ones have a matte finish, and range from .50mm, to 1.14mm.The pearly swirly ones look great and they all say "medium" on them. They feel like a .70mm though.Good grip, good durability.

Great for beginner guitarists
I play guitar and these picks really help me choose what type of picks I prefer. The multiple colors really help to distinguish between the soft, medium and hard picks.
