They work
These work, but, wow. You really need to know what you are doing. As others have said, you have to move fast. I'm a hobbyist, I default my auto darkening helmet super dark, wait for the 6011 electrode to catch, and slowly move the puddle along the weld. These sticks are almost like spray painting. But they do attach aluminum to aluminum. If you want to do anything precise, it will take even more practice. And as stated throughout, you MUST set/'know what setting your welder means' to electrode positive or these will not work in the slightest. You can search the internet and read decades old forum posts ridiculing people asking if you can stick weld aluminum. You can, it's difficult, but it has a place for those who can't afford a whole TIG setup.

Very useful for getting you put of a bind.
I just received these and was hoping to use them to repair an old 10ft job boat with ripped corners of the transom. I will agree that they stick easily when welding on super thin material, but I purposefully only had the heat up to 48 amps to try and keep it from blowing through. If you do your part, you can make these work.I have a tig rig that came with my machine, but I dont have any tungstens yet and my son wanted to use the boat. These rods did the trick. I ordered 3/32 to try and prevent blow outs.Far from a professional job, but definitely a good addition to the emergency kit at the shop.

Terrible product! Does not weld at all!!
Been welding for years figured might be easier than setting up the mig for aluminum..... Wrong, these suck!!! They strike, they stick but you can't lay a weld. I had many trys with different machines no luck, bought another brand and they work great!!

These are great rods..
Ok so all the people complaining about these rods must have a A/C machine or cant stick weld Aluminum I used Hobart and Radnor along with Lincoln aluminum rods but I was tired of paying the high prices. So I purchased these to try them out after my first weld I grabbed my phone and ordered 2 more lbs when 6 rods are $22 at the welding supply store and I can get 50+ for $30 and weld 10x better. Also to add I only have 18yrs experience.

Don't waste your money
The Flux gets in the way and takes out the arc. These are junk. And before you say, well this guy probably just don't know how to weld. I've welded for years. And these are very hard to weld with. I would not recommend. I'll try something different.

Did not work for me
My aluminum angle iron melted before the rod did. And it did not work on my A/C welder.
