Network Handheld T199 Radio WiFi/3G

I volunteer for West Midlands 4x4 and wanted a radio to use Zello on. Item turned up a day earlier than expected and works good.

Best radio / phone ive use so far good way to get into amature radio

Very poor low audio control , unit missing audio when I'm side by side test with rt4 on same router

The radio is fine and works very well so won’t go into that to much but like all Inrico radios there very load without due distortion and has a good old fashion volume control whereas many other Network radios have a digital volume control and being software driven can cause problems of the sound going from 0 to 10 with only a slight movement of the knob but no such problems with the T199.I would like to point out these radio’s are not walkie talkies in the sense of say a PMR 446 walkie talkie as they have to be programmed before you can use them on the likes of “Zello” Push To Talk service over the mobile phone network or Wi-Fi.Why I’m giving more time to explain this than an actual review of the T199 is because when I received the package from Amazon the T199 was rattling around inside the box along with the battery being connected to the T199 so possibility of long term damage to the battery so for sure it had been a returned by another customer but not checked by Amazon.So my guess is that the customer thought they were buying a radio frequency walkie talkie and not a “Network Radio” one and although a bit of computer savvy is required to set up PTT Network Radio’s if you search Google for “network radios weebly” you will find there a step by step guide to setting up the Inrico T199 radio and saving us from getting second-hand products at full price on Amazon.Just another point of interest, I never did get an email from Amazon asking if the delivery was OK, a first that I’m aware of, funny that isn’t it seeing the thing was rattling around inside the manufacturers packaging and although I was on the verge of sending it back, I really do like this radio along with the two other Inrio NR’s I have so 5 stars for the T199.
