This book has been a blessing. It explains why so many people struggle with a belief in a higher power because we all like to control how and when we believe and it never works out. It’s so easy to stop when you don’t know what it really means to follow the Lord

Grace Unplugged gets the credit for me reading this book. It also helped in my search to purchase it.Own It is a truly honest book that challenges readers to examine their faith. I like that the DiMarco’s were very transparent in their struggles and their victories and I like that they have chosen to use their experiences to help others. This is a pretty easy and fast read which is nice too.This book is definitely geared toward young adults though it really is a good read for all new or struggling Christians.This is an honest and thought provoking book. I love the raw emotion built into it the way the authors displayed their hope for readers. The insights into the authors’ lives really helped in making points and helping readers see that this is a book built on personal experiences and reminding readers that they are not alone. I personally love Scripture and I would have loved to have seen more incorporated, but given the message it works.

For the last few years my faith has been shipwrecked. Somehow I had decided to do things my way, that I was self-sufficient and that God was not involved in my life anyways. But if your faith is shipwrecked, then inevitably you're going to start sinking - into sin, selfishness, despair, and simply wandering around aimlessly in the wilderness. And then, at the height of my depression and emptiness, I came across the movie Grace Unplugged, and having nothing better to do, I watched it - a lovely story of the prodigal daughter, so familiar. This book was mentioned and I knew I had to read it. This book spoke so clearly and precisely about my shipwrecked faith and how it got to be that way. It thoroughly opened my eyes to what I struggled with that caused me to become a disillusioned and, frankly, useless "Christian." I read the book at one sitting - and I'm going to read it over and over - talk about being loaded with "Aha!!" moments! Step out of the wilderness folks and really read and absorb this book! I have watched the movie Grace Unplugged so many times... bought this book in every form, paperback, audio and kindle, yet never actually read or listened to the book. Being raised in Christ and knowing I had strayed from what I knew to be right, I was scared of what it might say and what it would cause me to see in my own life that needed changing... Fear kept me from the truth and then one day after falling so far into fear and darkness, I realized complete truth and total faith in God was my only way out. I decided to actually read this book and it was like the light went on again.

As one who struggled with my Christian faith, I was glad to come across this book while watching Grace Unplugged. Honestly, there are some things about God's character that I question regularly but some of the points that the authors make in this book quelled them. There's some things that are stated point blank and you can choose to debate them in your head or just accept them as true attributes of your relationship with God. The writers encourage readers to use The Bible to reason and challenge feelings and thoughts that can wrap you up in a sea of emotional and spiritual distress. I would recommend this for people that KNOW God is good and BELIEVE that He wants good for them and are willing to accept their CONDITION over their SITUATION. Give it a try.

I bought this book thinking that it would be a quick, simple read to share with some of our church's youth before they left for college. Instead, this small and unassuming book wrecked my world for a hot second and has completely changed my faith in the best possible way. Though I didn't agree with every aspect of theology, the overall takeaway was worth the investment. This book is one of the books I recommend to anyone who truly needs to get back to the basics or gain an understanding of where they stand with their faith.

This book served as confirmation for the confusion and stagnation I was experiencing in life. I has changed my prospective of faith and has challenged me to "Own It." Read...read...read!!!

very clear book, open your eyes and mind, makes massive difference in a relationship between you and God and puts your faith in action.

I didn't like this. I felt like I was being preached at. Too fake. Not rough enough. Life is rough. The journey of faith is intensely rough! Get with it!
