I bought the pack and none were popped or broken or spewing out, unlike some of the negative reviews. They were all in great shape. I tried one out right away. It takes a good squeeze, as most due, to pop the inner contents to start the cold process, but it wasn't that difficult. Definitely don't cut into it, pound it with a hammer, or anything like that to get it to pop as that won't make it work right. I shook up the contents and it immediately got cold and lasted well over 30 minutes at the coldest and then diminished slowly after that, which is what these are meant to do--provide temporarily cold for injuries. So, if you're expecting hours of relief from one package, that's unrealistic. If the contents are shaken thoroughly, that will reduce your results, too. But following the directions and knowing what it's all for seems to produce the results one should expect. So, I'm very pleased with these.

Good price and believe me, great item to keep around during kids sporting events. Provides quick cold relief for sport injuries. I always keep some in my pack while attending my kids baseball, soccer, BMX events. And I have had to used these ice packs more often than not with other parents due to sport injuries. They are the size of a regular wallet, so easy keep inside a backpack or sports bag. The best thing... don’t have to worry to look for some type of sandwich bag or messy melted ice cubes to provide cold relief. Who has time for that when someone gets injured?

I bought the packs to take with me on vacation to use on a bad knee. 4 of the 6 pack had obviously been activated prior to shipping to me, so they were useless. The two that did work, did not get very cold, and barely lasted an hour. I threw the spent ones away,AN UPDATED NOTE ON SELLER: SELLER CONTACTED ME IN 24 HOURS OFFERING REPLACEMENT OR RETURN, SINCE I HAD NO USE FOR PACKS NOW, I ELECTED FOR A RETURN WHICH SELLER PROVIDED THE NEXT DAY.UPDATE 2:SELLER also sent me a six pack replacement at no charge. I tried one pack.....what a difference. Pack got cold immediately and stayed cold for about thirty minutes. The rest of the packs seemed fine.guess I just got as bad batch the first time, which happens. But seller did everything to make it right.

I was a little worried ordering any cold packs as everyone on amazon seemed to say the same things: "these aren't cold enough" and "only cold for 4 minutes" and just all negative. These cold packs are good. Make no mistake these are not ice packs. As far as I know "instant inc packs" don't exist. These will not make you numb, and that's not what they're for. They are very cold and help with swelling/inflammation. Great for unexpected first aid where you might not have ice available

Bought these because we are very active in our sons high school marching band and drumline. Some of our kids would sprain an ankle or wrists. Ever time this happened we had to find the 1st Aid section which could be a crossed the school. So I bought these. The kids love them. They are so easy to use and really help with their pain. I will be buying more.

I can't put bottles of water in my 72 hour kit because of the pressure changes from temperature changes the bottles either explode or shrink up in my car as the seasons change and this works so much better!! They are small enough to fit right in the side pocket of my 72 hour duffle in my car. Hopefully will never have to use them, but will be right there for me incase of an emergency.

This is a great product to have on hand. Works well and is cost-effective. I am a volunteer with our town's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). We're trained to respond to local emergencies and are all First-Aid and CPR trained. I keep several of these cold pacs in my medical Go-Bag. This weekend I and others on our team are providing first aid services to the local American Cancer Society "Relay for Life" event. Hope I won't need these pacs but I'll be glad to have them with me if we need them!

I use these after hiking. I had a total knee replacement 4 months ago, so after I hike, I want some ice!! This product works well in getting cold to the knee immediately. My only regret is that the cold subsides after about 10 min. Nevertheless, that cold after a long hike feels great on my knee!
